if he boxed like Christian Mijares does, then i dont see an issue. But if he boxed like Spinks does, then there is some ripe hypocrisy going on.

Solis wasnt even running like Mayweather though, he countered when he had to and also fought aggressively. Solis was landing punches off the ropes and in the corners. Donaire's people probably told him to take advantage of his size by pressuring Solis but they must have forgotten to tell him that he also had to punch because by the second half of the fight, he was still moving forward but no longer punching aggressively or effectively.

Absolutely especially since i favor any fighter who uses this style. Every single fighter i have ever liked, with the exception of tyson has been this way, although 84-88 tyson used head movement and angles to get inside and give helatious beatings. The few i can think of i like who dont fight like this are Pacman, Vasquez, and i think thats it. Vasquez is so limited but he still manages to win, even when getting knocked down repeatedly (see jhonny gonzalez), its impossible for me not to like him.

The thing is though, its been very popular lately on here to condemn ANYONE who uses movement to win a fight. Essentially, "running" has been used on here more than ever among certain groups of posters, but it seems to be selective to certain fighters only.

trust me, this fight resembled nothing of the great Christian.

I dont understand how you say he wasnt running like mayweather, but the way you described that fight, and the excitement involved in it (or lack thereof) basically resembled the baldomir fight in every way, even right down to your description and the fact that yes, in the second half, donaire basically stopped throwing.

Haven't seen the fight but it's not what you do but how you do it.. There are a lot of entertaining boxers but not all of them are. Cory Spinks and Mayweather aren't entertaining but because they aren't entertaining doesn't mean every boxer isn't as well.. you just using this as a cop out to them being boring.

            this thread fails.. miserably!

I dont understand this, Solis fought a good fight, he moved, he took advantages where they came and did what he had to do against a bigger guy, but i dont see any posters (you know who they are) complaining about his performance at all, why is that?
He took more chances than a pure boxer would.

What about all the times he exchanged with Doniare? Sure he backed up and flicked the jab using movement..........but he stuck his neck out at times and made it exciting.

Solis just played it safe against a fighter who fought once at superfly. Glenn Donaire is a puncher and naturally bigger than Ulisis Solis.

He did coast and in the rounds he did, I scored for Doniare.

                  When Solis wasn't throwing.

I'd say a guy like Guzman is a pure boxer who takes chances.

                    Solis? Not so much..

Dude he didn't fight in fleet mode the entire fight. He put up a good show.

I mean he did a great job punching and making Doniare miss in the pocket.

And Jesus, remember when we were watching Forrest/Baldomir? We were in agreement that boxing like that is acceptable.
