IMO He only lost 1 round.

As for Tony. He fought pretty well early in the fight i think, the first few rounds were at least interesting. However, He seemed to have his will beaten away by Wlad and around round 8 or 9 he basically seemed like he wanted to quit.

Looks like Thompson just wasn't prepared to be in the ring with a strong, hard punching heavyweight. I don't think Klitschko looked nearly as good as I was hoping he would. He's the best heavyweight- boxing's premiere division- in the world but, as often, looked content just to take rounds. It's not a crime, but still...would've been nice to see more. As far as Thompson goes...you could see when he became frustrated, disappointed that he couldn't do more, and gave up. His will fell apart, his desire got on the plane back to America before he had, and he was looking for a way out. When he couldn't find a punch of his own to create that end, and found himself on his back, he just stayed down. Disappointed. The sentanta sports commentator went off on American heavyweights, "They're gutless, talentless cowards who shouldn't even be given title shots from here on out. They are pathetic." Hope the world doesn't feel the same way? More, I hope it isn't true...

I agree with your take the most. Thompson just isn't one of those fighters you can look good against. I'd be more optimistic about his future if he were five years younger though.

He's durable and cagey as hell.

Also those body shots he was landing on Wlad were no joke. I mean he's not a big puncher, but those were starting to noticeably tear up Wlad's ribs.

Thompson did a great job blocking Wlad's straight rights with that crab shell. Because for one that was the most right hands we've seen Wlad throw in ages. lol he was just letting it go every three seconds.

If Thompson wasn't the durable HW he is, that fight would have not went past the first or second round.

Thompson fought well for the most part I thought. He just wore down towards the end.

i was going for the underdog as usual and got so desperate i was yelling advice at the tv lol. wlad was so open for a southpaw left str8 down the middle or downstairs, if i was thompsons trainer i would have told him to move his bloody head and stop being so timid so damn much, start letting his hands go a lot more, bobbing his head and stepping around wlad and working upstairs/downstairs.

i think if thompson did that, and jumped on wlad everytime he hurt wlad (he did a few times) he would have had a serious chance in this fight.

but overall, a brave effort but could have been much better

Tony looked very good in the early rounds against the best hw in the world with his aggressive style and seemed to make Klitschko alittle uneasy. I thought Thompson won the first round convincly and was able to win a close fourth round.....

However, after round 5, Thompson seemed to give up and went into a defensive shell. By rounds 8-11, he was clearly a beaten man and was in survival mode.....

Overall his performance was dismal at best...
