I thought Koki was out for the rest of the year.

Sisnorio's death resulted in an investigation conducted by the Philippines' Games and Amusements Board with the aid of the National Bureau of Investigation to the unscrupulous matchmaking that happened between Thai boxers and overmatched Filipino journeymen.lito sisnorio might have been a special case. his managers and promoters should have gotten prosecuted for this injustice. but that's probably a very rare case.
fighters with inferior skills and records fight top fighters all the time. it happens alot in mexico but i've never heard the government wanting to ban boxing like they suggested in the philippines.
in the case of apol suice fighting this japanese guy, even though the japanese probably has more talent i wouldn't go as far as to call it a total mismatch.
give this suico guy a chance. who knows, he might surprise everyone and win!
This is not an isolated case.
The reason these overmatched guys are being put in with former champions, etc. is because they can't win.Comment

For a lot of fighters thats the only way they can make money. The pursuit of money should not take priority over the sanctity of life. It's sad but some commissions/promoters could give two ****s about the health and safety of interchangeable foreign opponents.Comment

so tell me why kameda/apol suico is such a mismatch? suico has a pretty good record of 10-2 6 KO's!
i can see where he's an underdog but a total mismatch? seems to me that these "mismatch" complaints are going a bit too far!
if the philippines government is afraid of their people fighting why won't they outlaw boxing so none of their fighters get hurt?!Comment

it's not really about the mismatch but about the amount of time they have till another fight is made. I mean they got a chance of beating those champs even though its little but these boxers are fed to those champs with only a month or less in interval. How would you feel if you'll be fighting 2 champs in less than 2 months? not including the fact that you'll still have to make weight then take another beating.so tell me why kameda/apol suico is such a mismatch? suico has a pretty good record of 10-2 6 KO's!

that's not the complaint! the complaint is that pinoy fighters are getting mismatched with supposedly superior opposition! this is bogus!!! a fighter should always stay in shape because he may be needed to fight at a few days notice. it happens all the time!
besides, those thai fighters by and large are all overrated because everyone knows that as soon as they leave the friendly confinements of thailand they get exposed!
if i were a boxer i sure as hell would not like anybody dictating to me whom i can fight or not. it's the boxer's choice and no one elses!Comment

wakwak,
boxing isn't supposed to be a picnic. there are going to be beatings administered everywhere. if apol suico cannot hack it with a top contender he should retire from boxing if his fans are gonna complain if he gets his butt kicked.Comment
