I'd say he's the best super middleweight of all time, the division hasn't been around very long though and has been used as a springboard between middleweight and light heavyweight for most of it's existance. All time great, I'm don't think so.
is calzage an all time great if he beats rjj and retires undefeated???

Its funny, Calzaghe fought in Las Vegas for his last fight. Didnt realise that was his "backyard".
Hes also fought in Denmark, Germany, Scotland and England.
Yeah that Calzaghe sure stays close to home. Whereas Roy is virtually a backpacker having fought in America and.......errrr......
The market, and hence value, is in the United States. This is where big fights with international stars generates the most money - FACT.
It makes financial sense to fight where you make the most money, especially when you are right at the top of the sport - FACT
If Calzaghe wanted Roy before he hit 40, or B-Hop, or Toney, he needed to go where the maximum value was and fight them. He chose not to. This does not equate to Jones or B-Hop ducking Joe - FACT.Comment

Yeah, I dont think being the greatest SMW of all time, is really THAT far up there on the GOAT scale... that really isnt a diss towards Joe, it just seems to be the truth...Comment

the bottom line if Calzaghe was black or american he would get more respect than he is now.
He beat Hopkins, a HOF fighter. He beat Eubank, a HOF fighter. He beat Kessler, who should be a HOF fighter. Jeff Lacy, a good fighter. if he beats Jones, icing on the cake. Calzaghe is already a HOF fighter, anyone who disagrees is just a hater, black, or american, or all 3 combined, full stop.Comment

Joe is at the top right now. he is undefeated. in top 5 p4p at the moment. held the super middleweight title for ovre 10 yrs. with 21 defenses. recently beat undefeated Kessler.
So you must understand because of where Roy is at in his career and whats happened over the years. he isnt a very credible win for Joe at this point. and thats sadly the truth. Joe is taking this fight because the money, and he feels he can win it fairly easily im sure.
so can you see how Roy has nothing to lose and evrerything to gain? and joe basicly has very little to gain but everytihng to lose.Comment

I think you missing the point. Roy is merely a shadow of his former self. he has taken 2 brutal KO losses. and his recent wins arent against that credible of opposition, he is a 39 year old trying to make a comeback after taking some crushing losses.

It's quite simple really. I will do my best to explain it to you.

Clearly missing the point. But I shouldve expected that.
You claim that Calzaghe was unwilling to leave his hometown. Yet hes basically done a tour of Europe and fought other fighters in their backyards. How could he have been unwilling to fight in America then? He just ****ing did.
Calzaghe wouldve fought in America if Roy had wanted the fight. No question about it. And everyone knows Bernard blatantly ducked him after agreeing the fight.Comment
