he is clever and conserves energy, i would have loved to see him fight calzaghe but it wont happen, i think tarver would beat calzaghe

      Learn to score a fight.

Tarver won his 5 rounds as convincingly as you can possibly win rounds, but... He took 7 rounds off, which is the sure formula for a decision loss.

Well, then, you have some fairly serious issues.

The first fight was close, but to me, Tarver did all his work in a few rounds rather than over the distance so Roy just nicked it. I had it 7 rounds to 5 for Jones. The second fight there is no debating! and in the third fight Roy didn't do anything apart from in Round 5 (Where he looked fantastic and had tarver in trouble, if he carried on like that i think he would have won)

As for Tarver winning at any stage i must disagree, i think prime for prime Roy would wipe the floor with him.

He did beat Roy up a bit, but he only did that work in some rounds IMO. As i said in a previous post i think that Tarver didn't do enough work over the 12 rounds to win, he did it all over 5 rounds IMO.

Of the current LHW champs, Tarver has the best record at that weight, but he would probably lose to Hopkins, Calzaghe and maybe Dawson so its doubtful he is actually the best.

Calzaghe has no intention of proving himself at LHW, so the debate about Tarver is a bit pointless.

Calzaghe just wants a giant pay day before his retirement and RJJ represents the best option for making money.
