he has the best record out of any light heavyweight,he only lost hopkins because he was weight drained, this is the guy that finished roy jones,he is back and he gonna become the undisputed champion,

how can calzaghe be the best lhw after one fight in the division that **** aint right

He only beat Roy cause Roy was weight drained...

Anyway, i think Calzaghe would beat him now because he would force tarver to work at a high rate and Tarver would tire. I would say Calzaghe would win a UD over him.

tarver is huge, he got the reach, size and power on calzaghe,

tarver wouldnt be scared of calzaghe`s power either, tarver would impose himself on calzaghe like he did roy in all three fights

Calzaghe being 1-0 means he is the lineal champion, but Tarver is the most proven at the weight for sure... other than Jones, but I still think Jones has some work to do to prove that he is actually back, and not just the next Vernon Forrest (and his failed run back to the top at 154).

He is because he beat the best the division had. Not a difficult concept to grasp surely?

Tarver is not the best LHW out there I don't think. He got lucky and got a weight-drained Roy who was only a shell of his former self. I'm not saying he is not a good fighter, but I don't think he is the best out there in that division.

I get where you are coming from. But Tarver doesn't have great stamina (IMO) and i think Calzaghes workrate would wear him down. But that's my opinion, we will only see who is right if they ever fight, which i doub they will as Calzaghe is fighting Jones then probably retiring.

To be honest i think it's more the nature of the fight than the fact he only had one fight. If he had clearly beat Hopkins then i wouldn't have a problem with saying Calzaghe is the number 1 LHW.

However, the fight being as close as it was and Joe being dropped early makes that doubtful.
