Haye is a coward for choosing an old shot fighter. Oleg is in his 40th year, has fought only once in the past two years, and has had serious back injuries. He looked very old and slow against Peter.

He isn't fast enough to have a chance of evading Haye's punches. Haye said he wanted to face a top 10 heavyweight - I don't care what the ratings say, Maskaev isn't top 50 anymore.

    COWARD?

He CHALLENGED WLAD and WLAD declined

    **** outta here

THis isn't that bad of an ice breaker. He's a wack enough opponent that if Haye looks horrible, (winning or losing) you'll know what to expect from him. But, he has the chance to look really good.

I really don’t see this as a bad fight, Oleg is old but still has some pop and if he lands will test Haye's chin and could even KD or KO him. And Oleg is rated in the top 10 by ring, who ever Haye fights he will be criticised.

He knew Wlad is trying to unify the titles, and has two mandatories to deal with or be stripped. Wlad said "get a couple of meaningful heavyweight wins" and I'll fight you in 2009.

Hopkins is more fit than all the people in this website if not most as well as he is more fit that Jerminan Taylor and alot of other well known fights who are active now and are in there primes

              that is not the case.

Haye is trying to prove he is the best HW and just beginning his career with no title at HW and didnt beat a significant contender and he makes alot of buzz

Well I hope Haye can stop Oleg early.

It's a complete mismatch, Oleg is shot and a very slow target now - it likely won't go past round one.

Maskaev is poorly managed. He should take a couple of fights - a warm-up against Couser or somebody, then a final fight against another Russian like Ibragimov or Boytsov. I hate to see his career end by a humiliating first-round KO from that loud-mouthed braggart.

I always said I was going to give Haye a pass on his first (technically second) heavyweight fight. He needs a big knockout* to build up interest, especially since there is a growing line of contenders to Wlads championship.

However if the next two fights Haye signs up for are also on the same level as Maskaev then I think people can start questioning whether or not he is truly a legitimate contender to the championship.

*He absolutely needs to KO Maskaev or at the very least, have a very one-sided decision in his favor.

I would say after Oleg he should fight someone like Sultan.
