Last night was another proof that MMA has definitely taken the spotlight from boxing.

What puzzled me was how Forrest Griffin got a title shot. Doesn't he usually lose against anyone other than Stefan Bonner?

I got to agree. Boxing is so much more profitable. The choice is obvious.

Who knows how he got his shot. It was supposed to be Machida or Alves I think.

I'm a huge MMA fan. Don't get it twisted. But if I were someone who liked to fight and was considering a career doing so professionally it would be in boxing. These MMA guys don't pay their dues like boxers due. You can have a nobody suddenly being launched into super stardom in MMA without reason or cause. Lucky punch and you're there. Boxing requires you to be more consistent and technically sound. Complete mastery of yourself. I'm not trying to discredit MMA but an undefeated champion can loose to a chump in a split second and be no one the next morning. Boxing is a long term investment. Buy and sell, buy and sell isn't a wise investment strategy.
