The reason they dont praise Floyd is cause he's a b!tch who loves to duck fights, where DeLaHoya has fought everyone is his prime. Floyd will never get his full respect until he FINISHES his career! White, Black, Brown or Yellow, doesn't matter.
Maybe because those fighters were more offensive?
My opinion, for what it's worth, is that this type of garbage isn't gonna do anything for anybody, and Floyd just comes out looking like a crying ***** in the end. Every fighter, whether black or white, gets hyped if they're exciting, if they take on the big fights, and they are personable with the media. I'm not saying every fighter should be this way, it's their life, they do what they want, fine. But when you fight in a more boring style, don't make the fights people really want to see, and are a **** to every journalist you come across, well... there is gonna be, surprise here, a little backlash. And Winky telling us white folks we don't understand his style. Whatever. All I know is that if that's his definition of pizazz, I can live without ever seeing another boxer with pizazz for the rest of my life. Give me entertainment, I don't care what color it comes in.
Great post I cant agree more

You know what's funny? You direct your posts at floyd's fans, but what do you have to say about winky's fans? Are Floyd and Winky both talking bull? One has made big money, and the other has made ok money, and had a hard time getting fights because of HIS style. Floyd said he had a problem with the annoucers, not HBO. Winky agreed. Winky says it is a styles thing. He is right in that respect.

He told David Mayo of the Grand Rapids Press that HBO plays the race card against black fighters. He claims the announcers do the same and worse. [details]
2 fighters that are alike are being hated on by HBO. and I don't mean they're alike by race, they both make for very boring fights. If there were white guys who fought as boring as they did, HBO would be hating on them too.

There may be more behind this than intitally believed.
I wonder if there is some behind the scenes racial issues with HBO.

I think in some fights the HBO commentators do take sides between fighters and if you take Mayweather and Pavlik for example, I don't think it has anything to do with race. The fact that they would show a lot more favour towards Pavlik than they would to Mayweather, its about their attitude. One was a boastful arrogant champion while one is a humble likeable champion.

I just think it is a bias with styles. Merchant though is known to rant off about this courage thing that insults fighters like Floyd. He wants Floyd to break down fighters. He fails to realize Floyd rose up in weight, and isn't going to ko everyone. He wants guys to go 12 hard rounds forgetting defense. He wants to see the aggressive style all the time. Merchant has lost his appreciation of the boxer. Good post though.

When Oscar De La Hoya Fights, YOU do not GET THE FEELING THAT THEY WANT TO SEE Oscar De La Hoya LOSE...

When Kelly Pavlik Fights, YOU do not GET THE FEELING THAT THEY WANT TO SEE Kelly Pavlik LOSE...

and more recently When Miguel Cotto Fights, YOU do not GET THE FEELING THAT THEY WANT TO SEE Miguel Cotto LOSE...

and the most obvious in the Mayweather-Hatton Fight,
YOU do not GET THE FEELING THAT THEY WANT TO SEE Hatton LOSE...

But you did get the Feeking that they wanted Mayweather to LOSE...

                  another example:

In the Jermaine Taylor fight against Kelly Pavlik
all you heard throughout the Fight was, What Jermaine Taylor was going to do wrong, and what he is doing wrong, and vice vesa What Kelly Pavlik was going to do right and what he was doing right....

and Once Again YOU do not GET THE FEELING THAT THEY WANT TO SEE Kelly Pavlik LOSE...

Why Does The Perception exist with these fighters..??

Thats the Problem Mayweather Has with them...

IT SEEMS LIKE THEY WANT TO SEE HIM and certain fighters LOSE...

AND IF YOU ARE A FAIR MINDED COMMENTATOR THAT PERCEPTION SHOULD NOT EXIST...

BUT WITH THE HBO CREW IT DOES...

YOU GET THE FEELING THAT THEY WANT TO SEE MAYWEATHERand certain fighters LOSE...

They are Paid to be FAIR COMMENTATOR'S, not AVID FANS.... SO any bias they have against certain fighters should be set aside as soon as they start calling the fight
to be real i gotta agree........it might not be blatant but more sub conscience in the things that they say. Or a better example when watching the Mayweather-Hatton fight you felt like the announce team praised every blow that Hatton did but with Mayweather failed to mention what he was doing until Ricky was visibly hurt.

Racism is a serious charge and should not be thrown around like this. It is an insult to any person who has experienced real racism.

On a side note to me this says that Mayweather really may be done. First he disrespects legends of the past and then he throws out wild accusations against the few networks that truly promotes boxing. If he truly wanted to leave the sport behind this is certainly the way to do it.

As for Wright I don't have a clue what he has been thinking for the last year or so.

                      ****** ****.
Thanks for saying it first. At least we don't have to see Winky fight on HBO anymore with that boring a55 style. That was basically career suicide. Nobody gets the proper exposure without HBO. It's as as simple as that.
