    HBO comments on Floyds remarks

Ross Greenburg, President of HBO Sports, has commented on allegations by Floyd Mayweather Jr., that the HBO broadcast team is racist. "Floyd is a tremendous athlete who gave his all to the sport," said Greenburg in a statement. "We have nothing but admiration for what he accomplished in the ring. His remarks regarding HBO broadcasters and executives are unfortunate and we could not disagree more. We will not engage in a debate. We are very disappointed in hearing about this. We wish him well in retirement."

nice response from HBO. I wouldn't engage that prick in any kind of debate either. He's a publicity whore because he realizes boxing is his meal ticket.

Now he is just a C-List celebrity that barely gets mentioned on shows & the internet even though he wants to pretend he's a megastar.

No he's not. In fact I'm peeved he's even considered C list. Paris Hilton is c-list. He's somewhere in the D minus list.

I'm not a big fan of Floyd, but the way the broadcast team was talking so bad about him was just embarassing on HBO's part.

Floyd is pretty much famous for being famous. To the general public he's the black guy that beat Oscar in one of the biggest fights in history. Take ten steps in any direction outside of that and they really don't know much more about the guy aside from the fact that he's a boxer. I'm not trying to **** on the guy but he definitely isn't A-List. Your bank account doesn't determine your celebrity.

If he barely gets mentioned on the internet then why are so many people in here talking about him?

It could be because this is a boxing message board. I'm just taking a shot in the dark with that though. It could be something else completely.
