HBO comments on Floyds remarks

Boxing is a second tier sport, in terms of popularity, and the average person can barely name many first-tier sport stars. Floyd is a nobody outside of boxing and maybe he's quickly realizing that and wants some more attention. Actually, it's more likely that he's just a ****ing idiot that can't keep his mouth shut. It's too bad he's such a fantastic boxer.

Floyd is pretty much famous for being famous.

That isn't famous for being famous. That applies more to people like Paris Hilton.

nice response from HBO. I wouldn't engage that prick in any kind of debate either. He's a publicity whore because he realizes boxing is his meal ticket.

Now he is just a C-List celebrity that barely gets mentioned on shows & the internet even though he wants to pretend he's a megastar.

He is at least a C-List celebrity, don't get it twisted. He's always affiliated with big names, like at the Laker game, he has a lot of celebrity friends too.
