Johnson fought in a time where blacks were pretty much despised and treated unfairly. Times have changed, that is why he is looked upon differently.
If Ali had never been reinstated to fight by the supreme court I think its arguable just how favorably he would be remebered today. It took the loss to Frazier for people to understand just how physically couragous Ali was, and him fighting ALL the best fighters there were for him to fight. If Floyds career was somehow cut short after 130 he may have been looked at in the same light as a Stanley Ketchel or Salvador Sanchez. But since that time he has digressed. That won't change unless hev comes back and wins some bigt fights that aren't just hand picked to make the most money. At least not in my opinion.Comment

Kostya Tszyu
Jose Luis Castillo
Luis Collazo
Juan Urango
Carlos Mausa
Vince Phillips
Carlos Vilches
Ray Oliveria
Juan Lazcano
Ben Tackie
Basically the man at 140 plus a **** load of 140 contenders. Add Malignaggi and potentially Pacquiao to that list and you have a sure lock. I'd vote him in now.
I'd vote Jose Luis Castillo and Diego Corrales in too. I wouldn't gatti though.Comment

A wrong opinion coupled with persistence despite overwhelming logical refutations...
deserves to be shoved back.
When I started posting on this site I used the more gentle approach, more diplomatic.
But idiot like Chupz, Flipside, etc. instead of returning that same diplomacy acted like dogs. I found out that there is no cure for idiocy no matter how strong the argument.
Idiots will always be idiots.
So I changed styles.
Why not argue without convincing the other person.
Argue for the 3rd person, they comprise 80 percent of the guys who read threads.
I found it more effective.
Not only do I hammer my points with EXTREME EFFECTIVENESS, I also shove the other guys words back up to his ignorant mouth.
Of course being the idiotic guy who persists on ******ity, it has to be extremely painful. But on the other hand it convinces readers more effectively.
And it frees me of the burden of trying to educate persistent ignorance.Comment

The answer is no. But his following, and his impact on the sport in the UK will get him in. Him winning that 140lb title coupled with his record (bloated mind you) will get him in. Its not that im crazy about hatton neither, but in reality, his impact on the sport in england was huge, and with the way the HOF works half the time, that seems to be enough to get you in.Comment

Exactly, and you don't need to beat an elite fighter to get in the hall because you may not ever get a chance to fight one. I say this because sometimes those elite fighters just aren't available of in your division. You have to be lucky to face those types of fighters. You can beat a bunch of good fighters like hatton has and get in.Comment
