Thats another good example. I was another one that was fooled into that. Kessler is very straight hard puncher and i just knew that he would pick Calzaghe off with counters and land his straight punches at will. I guess i truely underestimated Calzaghe that night..lol.

    The styles are completly different.

Before the Calzaghe vs Hopkins fight i stated the fight will be close through 6 rounds (it was) then Calzaghes work rate would take over second half (it did).

I could tell that by watching all both guys fights not by looking at both guys records.
Thats what you just said. You basically said that you predict fights by watching both guys fight no matter what the opposition was.

You said, "styles make fights" yet you make your predictions on how a fighter will fare against a different style fighter without taking "style" into the equation. That doesn't make sense. I judge a fighter on his career as a whole and the potential and improvement/adjustments he shows in each fight.

Basing what Mayweather did at 130 lbs will not help you predict how he will do against cotto...

I didn't make my predictions on what Kessler did against a low class fighter. I based it on the way Kessler fights and the fact that he throws straight punches and the fact that Calzaghe gets squared up and starts to trade. I also figured that Calzaghe was wasn't going to overcome the size and age disadvatge and the fact that Kessler beat more top 10 opponents than he has. I based this fight more on the circumstances than anything.

What you should have based it on is Kessler being a typical european fighter who fights in straight lines. Calzaghe being a busy southpaw would be moving to his right keeping his lead foot outside Kesslers lead foot moving away from the jab and right hand while his punches were always in range. Kessler was tailor made for Calzaghe.
