Whats wrong with this thread?

People are always asking regarding certain fighters - "what great fighters have they beat?"

Ask the same question of Tyson and you'd be scratching your head. Its not farfetched at all to say Tyson was overrated.

People look at Wlad's resume and say the division is ****. Who the **** was around when Tyson was on top? No one great. The division was just as **** in his day.

Correction to the thread starter - Frank did win the WBC title eventually and he almost squashed the Tyson myth in the first round of the first fight.....not the second fight where he was **** scared and just wanted a pay day.

Agree 100% tyson is very very overated...he feard great fighters and lived off scrubs only fought the big names when he was broke..Even then he tried to get out of it when he fought ll in the press confrence and bit the real deal

Larry Holmes was old and washed up.

and spinks was not even a real heavyweight.

Tyson never once beat anyone besides them that was even worthy of mention...

At the beginning of his prime he got his ass beat the hell up by Douglas who was a bum and while in his prime he got tko'd by a natural cruiser weight holyfield.

Tyson was more famous "infamous is probably a better word" because of his outbursts and anti white societal attitude. That and the fact that he went to prison for **** and came back to boxing.

What tyson was really good at was his pre fight intimidation. Something that didn't work on quality boxers like Holyfield and Lewis. He would not scare wlad or vitali with his **** talk. In fact, he would end up getting intimidated himself when he realized his mental game was having no effect.
