We KNOW Cotto never called out Floyd..even when prodded by Merchant and Kellerman.

I think this could be true. Arum prides himself on being OLD school. Alot of Old school fighters with some exceptions were all about the walk not the talk.

the new generations of fans prefer **** talkin prior to the fight because they are like girls who enjoy drama. Personally i could give a **** what boxers say about other boxers unless its a critique on thier experience with that particular fighter.

I noticed that Pacman gave a very Cotto esque answer during his post fight interview when Larry Merchant asked him about future potential opponents.

I even noticed on one occasion, Gary Shaw instructing one of his mma fighters to say "its up to my promoter who i fight next. Im just a fighter"

Anybody know why this is? Whats the harm in calling out a fighter during the post fight interview? Why are promoters so against it???

imo at this stage of pacs career, ( him being topdog ) no need to call out, almost everyone wants a piece... . the promoter of course would like the consistency of money falling in.

not true floyd and margarito have been calling people out whenever they had a chance. It's just that paquiao and cotto have to be careful with who they call out because they know they might bite of more than they can chew

Drama and trash talk have been going on in boxing almost since its inception, its just there is more media and focus on it because its easier for us to hear it. Think about Ali/Frazier Tyson/Razor Rudduck Griffith/Paret

yea a lot of his fighter dont call out other fighters like when kelly beat lockett then ask him about Joe he said i fight who they put in front of me i think thats the Toprank line.
