Does Arum instruct his fighters not to call anyone out during.......

    Thier post fight interviews?

I noticed that Pacman gave a very Cotto esque answer during his post fight interview when Larry Merchant asked him about future potential opponents.

I even noticed on one occasion, Gary Shaw instructing one of his mma fighters to say "its up to my promoter who i fight next. Im just a fighter"

Anybody know why this is? Whats the harm in calling out a fighter during the post fight interview? Why are promoters so against it???

personally.... i like when they call out someone...it hypes any fight.... but it all depend on the fighter... on the interview.. they have all the attention and all the media and tv.. is their opportunity to do anything they want... is just that some ppl like to do it.. others not....

I prefer that fighters call out other fighters aswell, and make it public on who they would like to fight, but for some reason, its seems as if the promoters are instructing thier fighters to keep shut when it comes to mentioning other fighters names.

Floyd was calling people out(including Cotto) when he was with Arum.

Cotto knew better than call out Floyd..He saw what happened to Hatton and said **** that.

I believe so....I think the promoters want to make EVERY move for the fighter when it comes to choosing an opponent. But the fighter should have a SAY-SO and not be on hush mode after a GREAT performance...especially a champion!

Doesnt make sense cause Cotto talked about wanting to fight Mayweather in articles and bashing Mayweather at the same time.

Cotto isnt scared to fight Mayweather; dont get it twisted.

I think it is done because promoters want money fights not always the best competition fights. Majority of the time the best fight money wise is not the best fight competition wise. I wouldn't be suprised if Arum really did do that. But far too many fighters now a days fail to realize is that the promoter works for you. You don't work for the promoter. I guess they look at like since the promoter is cutting my check I must be his employee which is just not the case but understandable without the right guidance.

WHY? Just why mention any specific fighter when that is not what this thread was about.

PBF is my favorite fighter but I didn't feelt the need to mention his name in a thread not about him in a blatent or covert manner
