Yeah, there's no real need. I mean the Welsh chose the dragon for their flag, we chose the cross of a guy who killed a dragon for our flag. That's a pretty nice pwn by the flag choosing committee.Comment

I think hes a great boxer, I just don't like when people says he's and ATG or even a future HOF when I believe he just hasn't earned it. His only aim is to retire undefeated and therefore he does not challenge himself. I feel that he wants a short cut to the same recognition that other fighters earned by stepping up and sometimes losing but always coming back to impress.Comment

If I must narrow it down to be specific I'd say I can't get to used to how he swings like a girl or amateur. Look at the clips. I personally hate it.I can't respect him when he has the whole world calling his name to fight. Yet, he chooses two past their primes legends to end his career and wants to be looked on as the best P4P? You appear to a true fan that only wants to know why others like myself aren't a fan like you. I appreciate that and mean no disrespect to you. I've posted several anti-Calzaghe post on here. To say they are Nationalistically motivated is pure ignorance. Why do I like Pac man, Izzo, the Marquez brothers,Donaire,Christian Mujeres among a few American fighters? I like good fighters! How do you make an excuse for the the slapping style in which he throws is punches. Several people have it as an avatar and it looks ******. How do you make excuses from a guy who hasn't fought anyone except MAYBE Kessler! I mean his last 4 fights are Kessler,The contender assclown , a 43 year old Hopkins and a shot Roy Jones???? I'm sorry all of you ****s that give me bad Karma because I ask who has the UK imported over here since Lennox Lewis can continue to do so and suck a **** while you're at it. We have Hatton,Khan ,Haye, Calzaghe and a host of other bums to validate my opinion. These guys are unproven and over hyped when they get over here. We have our fair share of bums in the states just as Mexico and Puerto Rico and all of the other countries. Funny thing is I don't see any red K on here unless it comes from talking about Calzaghe or any fighter from the UK. You make everything Nationalistic( not a bad thing actually).
OK then, the girl slaps: yes, Calzaghe does have a slapping style, and I can see why it would be unappealing to some, but the excuse you say he doesn't have, he does, he has had terrible hand problems since his amateur days and has to protect his hands, its as simple as that. In the past he used to punch much straighter, but as he got older, the problem got worse. When he fought Evans Ashira he broke one and had to win one handed and since then he is much more cautious . I would add though, that his style did look particularly bad in the Hopkins fight, if you look at Lacy and Kessler he through many more straight shots. I think Hopkins style just made him look bad.
His standard of opposition: basically I have to say that you are underestimating it. You are completely prepared to dismiss really all of his opponents and only give limited credit for recent wins. Are you this harsh on all fighters? The only old guy Joe has fought thus far is Hopkins, and he is no washed up shot fighter is he? He was coming off two great wins and held the Ring LHW belt. He was Joe's most credible opponent. Immediately prior to that he unified his division by beating the two younger champions in it, which surely is what you are supposed to do isn't it? Clean out your division? Whether you rate either of these guys or not, it doesn't change the fact that lacy was a heavy favourite and yet calzaghe took the fight, and Kessler was a top 20 p4per and again, favoured by many to win. You can't just dismiss these wins after the event, these were the best fights out there for Joe and he won both in fine style. What else could he have done? Would you really dismiss these wins if it had been Jermain Taylor or Kelly Pavlik that had got them?Comment

Calzaghes best 3 wins:
Eubank, Hopkins, Kessler
Toneys best 3 wins:
Nunn, Barkley, Jirov
Jones's bets 3 wins:
Hopkins, Toney, Ruiz
Hopkins best 3 wins:
Trinidad, Tarver, Winky (arguable)
The difference is really not that hugeComment

His last performance was dissappointing, I have seen him fight better but what makes me suspect was his competition.
He is a lot of HypeComment
