Calzaghe Haters: What Is It You Don't Like?

Calzaghe should get credit for the adversity and the knockdown comeback. Hell i found it really impressive at the time. I remember the fight and remember the Ring doing a small bit on it. Good stuff.
You're still playing the victim.
In fact this thread is about
10-15 percent douches who think Calzaghe blows.
Another 50 who think he's a good fighter but overrated a bit.
And then the rest are guys crying about how mean everyone is about him.
Also the Roy Jones ducked Calzaghe is the worst bull**** I've seen on this forum in some time. And yet you, a logical person, let that one slide.
As for the guy who said Calzaghe is green: he's an idiot.Comment

Its mostly about how his fans put him up there as some great fighter, when he's basically been protected in Britain all these years. It's very hard to call someone great who has spent 90% of their career fighting selected opponents. Had he come here and fought the real champions 5 or six years ago, he might have proved himself. Or he might not have. He is a very good fighter, but overly praised IMO.Comment

Of Calzaghe's opponents during this time Reid, Woodhall, Brewer, Mitchell and Sheika were all ranked in the top ten by the Ring Magazine at one time or another, with Mitchell, Brewer and Sheika being the best America had to offer at the time, and Joe beat them all. When better competition did come along, in the form of Lacy (supposedly!) and Kessler, Joe fought them too, and unified the belts. Then, having nothing left to do at SMW he immediately moved to LHW and beat the Ring champ in that division. These type of accomplishments are not typically associated with being protected.Comment

I will admit that I am not a huge fan of the guy. Having said that he is a very good fighter and seems like an ok guy. I guess it is probably partly because I haven't really followed his career and also due to the fact that I resent his fans. Calzaghe fans are totally biased and will only ever post about Joe. Even those Joe fans who are good rational posters, all they ever post about is Joe Calzaghe. I pretty much never see them posting about other fighters (definately not non-European fighters). That is disappointing.Comment

True englishmen are Froch and Audley Harrison, both cowards and frauds, all the traits that embody an Englishman.

Only in America is inbreeding such a significant problem that you legally have to take a blood test before you get married. Over here, we just don't try to marry our cousins.Comment
