Let's hate on Mayweather and praise Calzaghe

Why is it that the userbase of this forum hate on Floyd Mayweather Jr. for wanting to retire undefeated, and choosing to fight past-prime opponets who offer the most money?

On the other hand, why is it that nobody mentions the same flaws when talking about Joe Calzaghe?

Joe is doing the same exact thing. He's gone on record saying that retiring undefeated, means more to him than fighting the best, winning world titles, or anything else in his career.

So why is it acceptable to drag Floyd's name through the dirt in regards to this, but when it comes to Calzaghe nobody mentions it?

Joe's following up a controversial split decision victory over a 43 year old, well past his prime Bernard Hopkins.......with a fight against a 39 year old, well past his prime, 3-3 in his last 6 fights Roy Jones Jr. Why? Because Roy's not a big threat, he can't punch hard, his reflexes are shot, and he's a shell of his former self.....Oh, and he's also offering the most money.

Say what you want about Floyd but at least in his last fight before retirement he had the balls to fight a guy who was the kingpin of a weight division below him who was also undefeated in the ring.

Too bad we can't say the same about Joe...........

Floyd is a lot easier to hate than Joe. It is as simple as that really.

I'm posing the question to Joe's fans in general. I can't count how many times they've done this **** in the past. It's alright to crucify Mayweather fo rit (even though he did fight much stiffer competition), but they give Joe a pass.

I want an insight into the minds of these delusional people.

Because Calzaghe cleaned out his division against young unbeaten challengers (Lacy, Kessler) and Mayweather fought Baldomir and Judah who was coming off a loss instead.

I used to be a Calzaghe fan until he ducked Pavlik and chose to fight old shot Jones instead for more money....Im still pissed off at Joe for doing this, I was so pumped to see Calzaghe/Pavlik.

So then it becomes a matter of personal opinion? Because Floyd is more brash, he becomes more hated? That I can understand. But I still don't get that mindset. A fighter's attitude or swagger should be cast aside when judging accomplishments.

Hell if that's the case, Muhammad Ali was the biggest douchebag of all time. Saying what he did about Joe Frazier, disrespecting Joe Louis. He shouldn't even be on the G.O.A.T. list by these people's rationale.

The likes of Ricky and Lucky13 talk **** about Floyd but glorify Calzaghe.
