Holmes would punish him with his excellent jab alone. Combine that with his other boxing skills and he would totally confuse Tyson. I'd say Holmes would bust him up for about six rounds and then put him down for good. Tyson just doesn't have what's needed to compete successfully against Holmes

There is no way a younger Holmes could beat a prime Tyson. A prime Tyson wouldnt have any problem gettin inside through Larry's jabs and punishing him. It would be similar to the first fight. Since were comparin Tyson to a younger Holmes I say Holmes might be lucky and last 2 or 3 rounds longer. Tyson by TKO in 7.

A prime Holmes can weather the storm that a prime Tyson provides. He'd simply frustrate Tyson not allowing him to come inside. Iron Mike would just walk through some of Holmes Jabs though and provide some trouble. But a prime Holmes could do it all and would've certainly backed it up. Holmes always wanted the respect he thought he deserved. Tyson would've been the fight he'd be judged on (plus the Norton bout). Mike Tyson would have to bob and weave like and get killed on the long range. I'd predict a UD for Holmes or DQ cause of an frustrated Tyson.

naw.. why you wrong is that shavers could do nuttin else he was slow and he wore out much faster then tyson ...best case senerio for holmes would be a loss by decision similar to tyson vs tucker

I'd have to say Tyson. Holmes was working his jab and moving pretty well when they did fight and Tyson ripped through his defence. In thier prime, the same would happen, IMO, just later in the fight. Tyson, TKO 9.

what a wicked fight that would be, i don't think a peak holmes ever fought anyone as good as a peak Tyson. If ken norton can take holmes right to the wire then i believe a 20 year old mike tyson would knock him out with 5.

styles make fights, as cliche as that sounds. Norton always excelled vs Boxer types. He arguably beat Ali three times. If both Tyson and Holmes were in peak condition in their respective primes, I would go with The Easton Assasin. It would be a fabulous fight with Mike pushing the action early on. Larry Holmes superior chin and left jab would frustrate Tyson. I would look for Holmes to weather the early storm and win a unanimous decision, or late round tko...mostly from Tyson fatiuge.

The Larry Holmes that fought tyson was old and admittingly did not train for the fight. He took the fight so he could finance another office builing in Easton. He still showed signs in that fight that Tyson could be outboxed.
