    Roy Jones Jr. confirmed the latest details about his upcoming bout with Joe Calzaghe and says the fight is almost sure to land on September 20 in Las Vegas, with the MGM Grand as the likely host. The fight will take place at light heavyweight limit of 175-pounds. Jones also spoke about some of the recent promotional splits. During the negotiations for the fight, Jones split from Don King and Calzaghe split from promoter Frank Warren. [details]

        gOOD MOVE FOR BOTH FIGHTERS. BOTH FIGHTERS HAVE HUGE FOLLOWINGS IN THIER COUNTRIES RESPECTIVELY. nO NEED FOR PROMOTERS HERE.

          This sounds too good to be true. No promoters, no BS, just 2 fighters makin a big title fight happen between them ASAP. It makes too much sense. I'm hopeful but skeptical about this comin off so easily.

            How does Jermain Taylor deserve a title shot? He's coming off two losses. He's never had a single fight at 168. Shouldn't he win at least one fight at 168 first?

              Jermain Taylor was the undefeated middleweight champion before Pavlik came around.The same irrational logic could be said about Jones not deserving a shot at Calzaghe!

                    Sounds good two pros sitting down and making a half decent mega fight and as for carl froch he better bring his A game for this one because jermain bad intenions taylor will hand him his arse because he is not no over the hill robin reid and he defo aint no rybacki.
