I think he's a draw, Arum wouldn't be putting the Diaz fight on PPV without a solid undercard if he wasn't.

marquez is a very good , very skilled fighter NOT great.

if he beats casa and manny in the rubber match then maybe you can call him great.
The only reason Marquez didnt face real known fighters was because of his bad management, he had nothing but bad luck, Marquez would've beaten all of the fighters Erik and Barrera fought in their prime, hes more skilled then both.

I guess all the years being a promotor in boxing he has slipped at least according to some people who think only Mexicans can be draws...

true but it doesn't change his resume.

whether bad management , fighters ducking him , him not being a big name to the public , etc...... his resume still does not compare to erik's or marco's.

like i said before his skills and talents are up there with erik and marco but his resume is more comparable to naseem's and naseem had a short career.

If you have "great" talent, you should be able to accomplish "great" things. Remember, a manager acts on the behalf of the fighter, not the other way around. A manager does not make decisions without consulting with his fighter.

If Marquez decided he'd rather take short money and lose to Chris John instead of rematching Pacquiao, thats his fault.

Marquez is an excellent fighter who turned in some very good performances against the best of his era. But he failed to win a career-maker, and no a beaten up Barrera doesn't count.

                    I just thought of something:

JMM is the Vitali Klitschko of the lighter weights.

maybe a slight bit more technical and a better counterpuncher.

but that is not all that is needed in a fighter.

manny is one of the most unskilled championship-level fighters out there but his handspeed and punching power as well as being a southpaw makes him very effective.

sorry , xcaret. prime for prime juanma would get beat by marco and erik. probably get koed or tkoed by erik.
