Just look at Zertuche. He was absolutely ruined by Pavlik, and will never bee the sameComment

very few people actually post up their scorecards. they just **** like, "i had fighter x winning 117-111." a lot of times i think it's pretty obvious that they just threw a score out there and didn't actually keep a card.
that's a ****ing ****** thing to say on so many levels. If you thought Miranda was going to beat Abraham last night (or if you thought Taylor beat Pavlik the second time, or Hopkins-Calzaghe was a close fight, etc.), you should cease to ever score or predict a fight. It prevents you from learning anything.Comment

Damn KJ after all this time you still don't cease with the damn generalizations. You seriously have to stop with that ****, you're a much better user than that.Comment

That's true. He was still right though because the 3 judges scored the first three rounds for Miranda based on activity, I thought Abraham won atleast one of the rounds.
If it had went the distance (and it didn't), Miranda could've won the decision even though he was hardly landing anything. Abraham needs to worry about this against Pavlik, he can't always depend on landing that big punch.
I'm thinking the fight is damn near 50/50 in the US.
Abraham is the better boxer but he may not do enough to get 7 rounds in the eyes of American judges. Miranda is going to be the active fighter in this, though Abraham will be the one landing the hard punches and the one with the chance of a KO.
I pick Abraham by decision, but MIranda by decision isn't impossible.
What I can't see is Miranda knocking Abraham out. He couldn't do it when AA had a broken jaw, so it makes NO SENSE that 25 people have picked that result in the pollLast edited by TheGreatA; 06-22-2008, 12:05 PM.Comment

That's very true with Pavlik's activity and AA's..............lack thereof he could stand at a very tall hill when it comes to winning a decision. How the **** do king's fight ghosts anyways?Comment

I don't understand why people bring up Mirandas chin like it matters. The guy has a great chin. In boxing, you're not actually supposed to rely on your chin, however, to take punches. Miranda lost because he has ZERO defensive game. He backs straight up, drops his hands, and constantly leaves himself open. Miranda could easily be an elite boxer if someone would take the time to teach him a smart defensive game.Comment

I swear to God... this is the worst, and I mean the worst post in the history of boxing scene. I am stunned at the.... I don't have a word to accurately describe all of the ways this thread ... just terrible... really really... horrendously awfully terrrible. The professionals are right 98% of the time. But you kids who watch boxing on mommy's HBO always come in here posting "your card" and (wrongly) predicting who will win fights. If you knew anything, you could make money on that knowledge. But you don't and you can't.
If you thought Miranda was going to beat Abraham last night (or if you thought Taylor beat Pavlik the second time, or Hopkins-Calzaghe was a close fight, etc.), you should cease to ever score or predict a fight. It prevents you from learning anything. Just look at the oddsmakers' lines, read what the pundits say (if you read Cliff Rold the other day you knew the score, pay attention to him) and WATCH.Comment

What does this mean? Seriously... do you people read what you wrote before posting? I can't make any sense of what this means... Why didn't you just write: Initially, people bet on the line posted by oddsmakers.
No ****.Comment

Miranda was a hype job. Get over it. He couldn't finish a guy with a broken jaw and he couldn't bully the bullies. So far we've established that anybody that boxes can beat Miranda and anybody that brawls can beat Miranda. I think it's safe to assume that anyone who brawls AND boxes can beat Miranda.I agree with you as a whole and on the Hops/Cal and Taylor/Pavlik II fronts but Miranda clearly won their first fight and had a shot at winning the fight last night.....Until it reeked that his chin will never be the same after what Pavlik did to him. No excuses just saying he took those shots the first time he and Abraham fought but couldn't this time around. It was more of the same leading up to the KO though. Miranda won 2 of the 1st 3 rounds with his non stop aggression.Comment
