Is Berto Still A Prospect?

You cant call him a prospect after that fight, maybe you can say he is still a little green which I think he is. But he has faster hands than anyone I've seen at Welter right now. He obviously has some power as it would be hard for him not to with hands that fast, especially when he sits down on his punches like he did with that picture perfect uppercut. That was one of the prettiest punches I can think of recently.

He has not been tested against an elite fighter yet, but give him some slack. Is it his fault he got a chance to win this belt? He is still very young.

Collazo, Cintron, Quintana, Clottey, Zudah and Mosley are good matchups for Berto. He should beat at least 2 of those fighters before he heads up to fight any of the top 3. It's interesting how you make comments about deserving a fight. Thanks to Kermit's will to overcome his first loss (and ******ity), Tony got a chance to become a champ again. After losing to Paul Williams, Tony could had been easily ducked by all tittle holders. Berto should fight any of the six fighters I meantioned at the beginning.

Like the article that was written earlier this week. Berto is entering his second phase of his career. A fight with the lower part of the elite's of the WW division would be a good start and a win there could lead him even bigger fights.
