No, Kessler chose to fight for a title instead. If Miranda had won, he could have challenged for it.

When have I ever labelled all American fighters as bums?

      I rest my case.

And Deanrw, i am aware that Miranda is columbian, but the majority of his fights are in America, and most people hyping him were American's.

Most Europeans were well aware he would make an easy nights work of Miranda now his jaw wasn't broken.

Just a thought as well, round 4 of both fights was pretty eventful!

I'm not saying you have labelled all American fighters bums. It just seems that a lot of the posts you make are trying to promote European fighters over Americans or European boxing fans over Americans. Who cares where everyone is from? Can't we just discuss the fighters on the basis of how they fight?

I try to, but on 99% of occasions my opinions are disregarded by Americans either because I am British, or the fighter I am discussing hasn't been on HBO recently.

TBH, I try to keep race/nationality out of my arguements, but tha fact remains in this one, Miranda was overhyped, mainly by American's who had only seen one fight of Abraham's, and that being the first Miranda fight. They seem to disregard the fact that he had to be cautious because his jaw was no longer attached to his face, and picked Miranda to win by brutal KO, something knowledgable boxing fans knew was not going to happen.

Kessler will receive more in the long run for being a champion than he will for exposing a man who was massively overhyped by Americans, I'm sorry if you think it means I'm bashing American's, but it's just true.

Kessler is now WBA champion again, and Miranda is where?

Okay okay okay, let me explain this to you, just because a fighter lost doesn't mean he wasn't ducked by another fighter. What ever happens to miranda in the ring doesn't matter. If kessler ever turned down a fight with miranda, then yes its called ducking the fighter.
Think about it this way, if cotto loses does that mean that floyd didn't duck him?

That's not the point I was making though.

I merely used the decisive loss to prove that Miranda was in fact overrated, and Kessler made the right decision to fight for a world title instead.

What would you have done in his position?

World title, or a guy you could beat so decisively that everyone would just dismiss him as "just another bum"?

Another important part of your post, is that if a fighter turns someone down they are ducking them.

RJJ turned down a fight with Joe Calzaghe, was he ducking him?

              Surely you think he was?

If I called out Kelly Pavlik, yet he fought someone else instead, does that mean he was ducking me?

Your most basic logic is badly flawed.

To be honest I think Mikkel would have been better off comfortably disposing of Miranda as he no doubt would have. From a marketing and future value aspect, I feel this would have been the correct move. I am a huge fan of Kessler's but I think he needs to get on American TV and show what he has the offer to get paid the money he deserves. Put it this way, do you see everyone saying Arthur is rubbish and only beat an over-rated joke? I don't. I only see people saying he fought a great fight and deserves a shot at Pavlik to see if he is the best MW out there.

I wouldve fought the damn guy that was gonna give me the big fights, not the worthless alphabet belt. Look how excited everyone was over Abraham's defeat of Miranda, and look how little everyone cared about Kessler's win over a bum that was probebly worse than Miranda.
all that belt does now is give obligations to Kessler to fight another nobody, Haussler.

and most the people that were fans of Miranda were only his fans because he had a big mouth, came to fight and had a big punch, and there were plenty of non-Americans that were fans of Miranda anyway.

Miranda was a much more worthwhile opponent than Dmitri 'Who am I?' Sartisoki and you know it. and while Kessler is way more skilled than Miranda, Miranda still can crack pretty well.
I remember Kessler being phased by a light overhandish right by Andrade in the first round, and that punch was similiar to the kind of right hands Miranda throws. and hope we can all agree that Miranda hits a hell of a lot harder than Andrade.

I certainly dont think Miranda would beat Kessler, I didnt even think Miranda would beat Abraham. but he is a bigger risk than whoever that other fellow was.

That's because he is a middleweight moving up, on foreign soil etc and had all the disadvantages in that fight.

If there was an excuse American's could use, they would use it (not all American's, only the ignorant ones, who sadly outnumber the sensible ones massively)

If Kessler beat him, Miranda would be referred to as a middleweight, even though he is now officially a SMW.

Most American's will always try and find a way of discrediting european fighters, only when the result is so decisive that they can't, does a fighter get his dues.

If RJJ had no one else to fight and had been inactive for a year, and Calzaghe had publicly called him out multiple times, and they both had a contract for the fight made...and then RJJ pulled out then yes, you could make an argument that RJJ ducked Calzaghe.
