It could possibly have gone on for another few seconds like that but he needed to stop it. Fighters like Gomez are very romantic and are just like Rocky but in real life he's risking his brain. Just my opinion.

The stoppage was fair IMO, Gomez was taking way too much punishment and the way he comes forward, he would carry on till he was literally brain died from the flurries from Khan.

Khan needs to improve on the inside, he leaves him self open to damage. The knockdown was flash, but it leaves question marks over his chin and defense. He needs to get it on with a yank trainer and quick, Uncle Roger maybe?

Khan's hand speed by the way is frightening, 5 punch combos in the blink of an eyelid, **** knows how Gomez lasted that long? He showed great heart.

Khan is at least 3-4 fights away from a world title fight, and what's the rush? Time is on Khan's side.

I can't believe Gomez quit in the fight in Ireland? Can't believe it.

To be fair Gomez would have went 12 rounds tonight with Khan tonight but it might have killed him.

Too many negative people here looking for an excuse to ***** about a very good up and coming young fighter.

He doesn't know how to control the fight. He gets hit, sometimes gets hurt i.e. that rib shot, and then coems back with flurries and gets into scraps.

He has some good attributes, speed, power, heart, but lacks a decent chin, composure, ring control, tactics etc.

He has a long way to go before he can beat a legit champ.

He could beat pretty much any of the legit champs today. He has the attack (power, speed, strength, combinations) to do so. Similarly he has the defense to lose to each and every one of them too. He does not seem to have the strongest chin and punch resistance though he bounces back from it well. Get someone in to teach him defense to cover up the frailties of his game (you dont NEED to have a great chin to get by. How much has anyone ever really tested Mayweathers?) and he could literally do anything.
