This was in response to whether he was going to fight Cotto.
You do know that when asked if he would fight Cotto after the hatton fight on ESPN, he said he would love to fight cotto, but deep down he knows he can't beat me. What you posted is part of what he said in the ring after the hatton fight. Floyd also spoke about fighting cotto on espn friday night fights and that infamous "cotto has to get his fan base up". There are only two things i ever had a problem with floyd saying. His title that he won against judah was legit, and that fan base comment. He is the true champ. They were asking him when is he going to fight cotto when he didn't have to say anything at all. They ask Cotto this all the time, and he leaves it up to his managers so it is a two way street. Cotto... if any real fans admits this is holding a bogus title as well as margs and williams. This isn't to promote floyd to any status. It is the truth. In boxing we have guys who are stripped of titles, and King and Arum are behind that crap as well as Suliaman. Those guys should've been fought each other. Instead you get these "why won't floyd fight so and so or why won't this guy fight that guy". If we had a legit champion along with a legit top 10, we could get these fights, and all of this phony ducking talk wouldn't even be utterd about any boxer.

The difference is that Cotto states "I'll fight anyone that my promoters tell me to fight" This is what he always sais and doesnt mean that wont fight FLoyd.... Mayweather basically is making excuses as to why he shouldnt fight Cotto. There is a difference between to two buddy.

I dont know why some people are getting mad over this, it is a FACT Mayweather offered Cotto AND Hatton fights in 2005 at 140 lbs, BOTH of them turned it down, Hatton twice, Cotto once.

You don't have any reference for floyd turning down a fight with cotto or any fighter. Cotto didn't turn down any fight with Floyd either. His trainer said not now just as floyd said to margs...not now. You see, i call turning down a fight what it is. "No, I don't want to fight you". You rarely see that in boxing, and if you do, there is usually a good reason. Fighters will either fight for big money, or for respect, or give you a reason why they won't fight. And that reason is usually money. Fighters at the top level aren't scaed of each other. You have to believe this. You can't be a fan and believe they are scared.

There is no bias. I see boxing like any sane fan would. I see a undisputed champ, and I see a guy with a bogus title.

Mayweather offered Hatton fights at 140 twice in 2005, One in the UK, Hatton and his team turned down the offer, he did the same with Cotto and Arum and Evangelista said "they werent ready". I'll try to find the link and post it here, it was after the Gatti fight.
