his ability may have died but his star power didnt

if he would have stayed retired he wouldnt see those 14 or so mill he made against jones. it was worth coming out of retirement for that money, even if it was for a beating.

now if he was past his prime and wasnt able to cash in checks like that from the public interest...that's a different story

but i bet you thinking about his bank account helped cushion some of those punches roy was throwing at him

true. it's good to see fighters get set for life. not that he wasn't already rich before.

if i could turn back time to 10 years ago there's 3 things i would do.

make sure tito never jumped to 160 and stayed at 154. he could've waited for 147 champs like vernon , shane , mayorga , baldomir , zab , etc.

make sure tua didn't get fat.

make sure roy jones never went back to light heavy and never give that bum tarver his one shot at glory and just cashed in on a tyson or holyfield megafight and retired rich as hell.

yeah. i don't deny floyd's ability but don't really like him or root for him.

hatton has a great personality and is a funny guy couldn't help but root for him that fight.

2 fights that ricky had that made me sad.

when he wore down my kostya and when he couldn't pull off a miracle against floyd.

              i see it.

tito's record in higher weights is shaky. he should have stayed at 154 a little more. before hopkins there was a talk of the eventual fight with roy, perhaps at a reasonable catchweight, but when hopkins knocked him out the interest died, and too did the dollars.

tua could have been champ if he kept off that food. his trainers should have put a lock on the refrigerator door and kept him running. an inshape tua makes terminator look like a barbie doll

i agree about roy that's how i've always looked at it. after the ruiz fight he should have went after holyfield. at that time evander was beatable. toney took him out, roy with his speed and athletic gifts would have earned a unanimous decision. beat a few more quality names at heavyweight, and bring his undefeated record against Lennox Lewis. i see Lenny taking him out of there, but i also see Roy with a big smile on his face once he leaves the hospital. jones vs lewis for unification would have made history, plus there's no shame loosing to a guy like lewis

Meldrick Taylor gettin robbed by Richard Steele
Tyson gettin humiliated by Lennox Lewis for 8 rounds
Chico's last fight against Clottey! Chico had nothing left and to see a warrior like that unable to bring it was sad to watch! Then to hear later that he lost his life in a motorcycle accident really crushed me! That was the saddest day in my boxing life!

                R.I.P. Chico!

he could've done okay at heavy.

                    how much would've tyson-jones drawn? holyfield-jones?

he would beaten byrd for his ibf title. he would've decisioned tua.

he would have made $$$$$$ in a unification with lennox.

a loss to mike tyson or lennox lewis for a former middleweight is not even counted as a loss.

would've been much easier to swallow than the tarver ko......

For me it was Nigel Benn in the two fights he had with Collins. It was sad to see a proud warrior like Benn go out the way he did, the man simply had nothing else to give.
