The real winner in Pavlik vs. Taylor I

The ref, I dont know his name but if it was anyone else they would of stopped the fight as soon as pavlik got knocked across the ring trying to stay up... thank god he didnt. Thats the problem with most fights today the refs stop the fights way to fast.

We [the fans] are the winners. Taylor too, those losses are blessings in disguise.

I proberbly wouldn't have complained at the time. No one would have known what would happen in the latter part of the fight.

I don't think so... They usually only stop it if someone is getting pumbling and shows signs of serious injury like Taylor was when it was stopped.
Pavlik ate some good shots but clearly wasn't in a ton of danger

lol yeah, the end of that round was crazy when Ward was blasting Gatti's head repeatedly and Gatti wasn't even trying to block

When Does Gatti try to block? Blocking punches with his face doesn't count

I agree for the most part. Although I think he was hurt a little more than what you think. He wasn't out on his feet but he was clearly hurt. He recovered very well and quickly and he was still throwing back.

I wouldn't have complained if the ref stopped it there. I'm glad he didn't though.

I know not all fights are stopped early but in my opinion way too many are.

It sucks when fights are called off too soon. Refs have to make split second decisions so they are bound to make a few bad calls. Better to have an early stoppage than a death as a result of a late one..
