this thread is bizarre and pathetic with a side of WTF did I just read.
anyone who questions the heart of men who step into a ring where at any point it could be their last fight gets my respect. This isn't about money because the VAST majority of fighters make **** wages.
boxers deserve better respect than those who call them coward or say they show cowardiceComment

Pelon is saying what is wrong with calling a fighter a coward. Then brings up instances where fighters didn't give rematches or fouled, or floyd belittling fighters, and not fighting them. lol Those are the examples of what gives him the right to call a fighter a coward. You saw what the fans had to say about his thoughts lol.this thread is bizarre and pathetic with a side of WTF did I just read.

Reading comprehension isn't one of your strong points is it?
Nowhere did I state or claim anyone was a coward for stepping into the ring to fight.
I base it on their actions.
Diego Corrales was a coward for hitting a pregnant woman.
However, I do like him as a fighter. I admired his ability to never back down from a fight and to always keep hope alive during his fights.
But for an instance in his life, he committed a cowardly act.

Again, this isn't about stepping into the ring. They all deserve respect for that and I have given it often as a fan. But as a paying fan, I also reserve the right to say when I feel a fighter has acted in a cowardly manner and have given examples. I don't hold any fighter up on a pedestal like some people do. They all get their just due, along with a fair share of criticism as well. The funny thing is, I've rarely if ever in my time here mentioned any fighter as a coward. I'm just pointing out that yes, there are times when you can call a boxer a coward and it has nothing to do with stepping into the ring. I base it on their actions.this thread is bizarre and pathetic with a side of WTF did I just read.

Its like calling a football player soft....think about it...would YOU go play in the NFL???Again, this isn't about stepping into the ring. "Cowardly actions", and "coward" are not the same thing.
If a guy in the street wants to fight you, and you fight and are losing, and you go picking up a bat...that is considered a cowardly act. If you are asked to fight a guy in the street, and you don't fight, you are NOT a coward. If you are asked to fight, and you say no, and the guy smacks you, and then spits on you, I would call you a coward.Comment
