IMO Floyd is unquestionably the most hated fighter ever

Most of you know how I feel about this. I think its unfair to rip him due to his size. He shouldnt even be there. Its funny how guys like Cintron & Williams always say that Floyd isnt a real WW but then in the next article they will call him out. Thats why all these guys want to fight him. None of them dont believe he can hurt them and they all think that they are clearly much bigger, stronger, can make there biggest payday, get on PPV for the 1st time in there careers, and knock off the #1 guy in the sport while gaining a ton of fame. Why wouldnt they want to fight Floyd so bad?Nobody was questioning his dedication to his craft and the sport. What people are questioning is his reluctance to face the top guys in the division that he once ruled. The WW division is packed with talent and prime fighters, yet Floyd chose to look above and beneath the division for opponents.
I also think he gets ripped way too much for his last 2 fights. Sure they werent WW but he beat Oscar at 154 when he was at a huge size disadvantage and Oscar was still very good at the time after decapitating Mayorga. I still say that fight wouldve been harder then any other WW fight at the time "maybe" except for Cotto. Then he beat a guy at 140 who was a undefeated world class fighter and had just beat a guy in Collazo at WW who is a very good fighter so why diss Floyd for those 2 fights? I dont rip Floyd because of the size and his age. If he were bigger of 26 years old then I would say that he needs those fights but I dont think he does.
I think his biggest problem was that he just chased the big money fight with Oscar and it made him move up unaturally because Oscar was at 154. If there was no Oscar of if Oscar was a 140 pounder then Floyd wouldve never moved up. He wouldve been a 3 division guy his whole career except for maybe 1 fight at WW and 1 fight at 154. He wouldve stayed at LW for much longer and just now would be moving to 140 to finish his career because thats his natural weight. He can move up because he is that skilled but he doesnt belong there. If you look at him compared to guys like Cotto, SRL, Hearns, Duran, Margarito, Williams, Clottey, Cintron, and so on, there is no comparison. They look much more naturally bigger and stronger then him. I think Floyd can still beat the WW's because he is that good but your risking losing a fight just due to size and thats why I think he's hesitant. He doesnt mind losing but he wants to lose because someone is better then him, not just because they were too big for him to overcome it. Unless you got Oscar type money then that was a super huge risk and no one else in the sport is doing that. Cotto, Margarito, and the rest dont have to fight bigger guys all the time like Floyd does. Its a big difference. Let them fight a prime Winky at 154 or Pavlik at 160 and you see what happenedsComment

Probably right, but you have to take into account the times. Johnson had a thing for white women, during a time that was considered very taboo. And that wouldn't have been so bad, but he had to make a point of being as public and vocal about it as possible, for whatever reason, and that made many (if not most) white people hate him. On top of that, he taunted the white fighters he beat in front of largely white audiences. He was charged (and convicted, even though he later married the woman, can't remember her name) with a federal violation of the Mann act, and later fled the country to avoid prison.
Anyway, yep, you're absolutely right, he was definitely, the most hated fighter, hell, he may have been the most hated black man of the time, period.Comment

How is it that u give him a pass for not fighting any of the top WW's due to his size, yet credit him for fighting Oscar? If he's too small for the welters, how is he not too small for Oscar at 154?Comment

I already told you why. Its because Oscar is the big man on campus. Everyone wants Oscar. Oscar is the most called out fighter in history because they know he brings the big money and fame.
People also are forgetting about where Floyd was before the Oscar fight. 1st off he had that horrible relationship with Arum where he never got on PPV until the last match on his contract and he never made the money he thought he shouldve. He was a great fighter but no one wanted to give him a top spot so he had to wait for everyone to lose so he could move to #1 and everyone has been trying to pull him off ever since he got there. He cleaned out 130 with a ton of good fighters and had a huge fight with Chico. Yet when he went to LW to face a beast in Castillo, it was a undercard fight. He couldnt even get the rematch on PPV. Thats why he wanted Oscar. For the big money and fame. The WW's are great but none of them bring that. We know all these guys and love them but regular people dont. Thats why they do extremely low PPV numbers.
People always diss Floyd fighting Oscar but Cotto will fight him next and they will love that just like they did the Zab fight after Floyd beat him. Any fighter out there right now would leap at a Oscar fight. Forbes said he would never move up to WW but that was before Oscar called in a fight he knew he wasnt going to winComment

Muhammad Ali was probably the most hated fighter ever.IMO Floyd is unquestionably the most hated fighter ever he is dispised by his own countrymen even in a Country v Country fight
he is disliked by nearly all media pundits and not just media pundits but ex Proffesional fighters and general Boxing fans
if anybody thinks he is gonna be more appreciated when he is gone they are wrong ,he is the worst example of an Elite fighter the sport has ever known mainly because he messes with traditons of the sport and that does not only get up fans noses it gets up Boxing historians Noses that this great sport can be devalued by someone who is supposed to be the figure head for the sport
do u think he is the most hated Figure Boxing has ever produced ? Ali did what he did but Ali never devalued the sport he enhanced it if anything with his showman ship and heart and his willingness to face the best fightersComment
