If Kelly Pavlik turns down Mikkel Kessler, is he ducking him?

Calzaghe doesn't need Pavlik either and he's fighting the former P4P King instead.

I know everyone wants too see the best matchups but I think Pavlik should stick around middleweight for as long as he can. He should only fight Kessler if Kessler comes down in weight.
Theres is still some good fights for Pavlik, for exampla Abraham, Sturm (If he ever comes to this side of the world), Mundine (if he is serious about coming down to middleweight), and Winky Wright.

It depends how long Kelly doesn't fight him for. Assuming Pavlik gets past guys like Abraham and Winky, then he's going to run out of big fights at MW pretty fast, and I'm sure he'll naturally need to go up to SMW pretty soon anyway.

The competition at SMW is much better and their plenty of guys like Froch, Bute, Mundine etc for both Kessler and Pavlik to fight. Assuming that Kessler picks up where he left off before Calzaghe and still looks good then Kessler v Pavlik will very shortly be THE fight in that division, and at that point if either guy declines to face the other then it would have to be ducking.

Oh, I dunno, Kessler's pretty darn good. Just young, like Pavlik. Like I said on that other thread, this is a perfect matchup, a true "Pick'em" fight. The only way anyone picks a winner in this fight will be sheer luck.

I disagree. I would pick Kessler in that one pretty happily. He can do everything Kelly can do, plus a whole lot more besides. He's also faster and may even have more power. I would definitely pick Kessler without a moment hesitation, unless Kelly, who is younger, shows a lot of improvement in his next few fights, which to be fair to him, he may very well do.

Kessler has two many limitations to beat Pavlik. Plus there is no way he could make MW and there is no way Pavlik will move up the SMW to fight a guy that very few people in the States have heard of so we might as well just end the discussion.

I can't seem to find respect for Calzaghe, it may be his ridiculous style. I think a lot of people may agree with me when i say who gives a **** what Calzague does... Or am i completely on my own here?
