You do realize you just contradicted yourself right? Basically what you just said is that the pre-Taylor fight Pavlik is equivalent to present day Abraham, which I agree with. Yet, you say Abraham is a serious contender in the middleweight division. WHAT!?!?!?! When people were talking about Pavlik before the Taylor fight, nobody was putting him in the thick of things in the middleweight division, yet that is exactly what you are doing with Abraham.

Pavlik is considered a hype job because certain fans on here talk as though he is the proven dominant fighter in and around his weight range. He isn't, he is a young champ with wins against two good fighters, neither of whom are truly premier grade. He has potential, but that's all it is.

1. Kessler first step up in competition agants a grade A fighter was Joe. Joe soundly beat kessler. Kessler did not show a good account of himself and a rematch would be no different.

Kelly Pavlik has never faced anyone anywhere near as good as Joe. Kessler has and although he was beaten, he put in what was probably a career best performance in which he demonstrated skills Kelly Pavlik never has. It required arguably Calzaghe's best ever performance to beat him.

2. Kessler is more interested in picking up trinkets instead of fighting the best available. Like when he ducked miranda. Not saying that Kessler wont beat miranda, but he didnt want his bounce back fight versus a guy that could knock him out.

This is not a valid criticism. What boxer doesn't take a fight they are expected to win after coming back from a loss. There are a lot worse out there than Sartison.

Has Kessler's chin been tested like Kelly's has been? I want you to think about that. A Miranda fight would have answered those questions. But Kessler is not interested in answering questions. He wants the WBA Intercontinental title like it means something.

Kelly's chin has been tested and the answers came back inconclusive. He was badly wobbled against Jermain Taylor, more than Kessler has ever been. We don't really know HOW strong either guy's chin actually is.

Kessler's best wins were against B plus fighters. Mundine is another hype job and a B plus fighter. Which btw is what the same people argue against Miranda being an elite fighter.

Kessler's best wins Andrade, Mundine and Beyer were all on the same level as Edison Miranda and may very well be on Jermain Taylor's level too. Jermain did not look impressive even in beating B-Hop and in many people's opinion is nowhere near the fighter he is made out to be. If Kelly Pavlik had beaten the same fighters, throw in Eric Harding too, his fans would be crowing about it.

Kessler lost to a guy that struggled against a 43 year old. If he was so good, he would have given Joe fits.

There is literally no more credible opponent that Kessler could have faced, as Joe proved then and since. Pretending that anyone should give him fits is just silly.

its funny you say that, because I kind of question Kessler's durability, mentally and physically.

He was having his moments in the Calzaghe fight, but ultimately he was overwhelmed. he surprisingly seemed to lose it after he got hit with too many punches in one round, and those shots really werent that damaging. after that he more or less fell apart.

I dont know, maybe its just me. Ive heard that he was knocked out in sparring against a journeyman, so maybe thats just been festering in my mind. but for whatever reason, it doesnt seem like Kessler could take punishment well.

I can't really pick in this matchup, but I sort of lean the other way. I think Kessler's handspeed, technical ability and hard straight right will put Pavlik on his shorts more than once in this fight, early. If Kessler has any predatory instinct, he could finish Kelly off before it goes to mid rounds. If he doesn't, it'll be a war for the entire fight, with Kelly standing a good chance of putting Kessler away late.
