I mean cmon, heres a clue...Holyfield was suspended from boxing by the New York State Boxing Commision for health reasons. They dont suspend ANYONE. If that doesnt scream 'shot!' at you, then I dont really know what to say...and that was 3 years before the Ibragimov fight! Its actually amazing that Holyfield was able to actually pick up wins, just remember all the gruesomely hard fights hes had throughout his career.

anyhow, this is what my definition of shot is:
    1. You are a fourth or less of what you once were
    2. Your ability to take punishment/avoid taking it has gone way down
    3. You are struggling/losing to fighters that you really shouldnt be struggling/losing to.
Roy Jones qualifies. but admittedly, only just barely. Ive seen much worse.
I agree with you in some aspects. Holy was shot. But he came back and showed that he wasn't totally shot. The fact that he was competitive with ibragimov, and then you see how ineffective the heavy weight champ wlad was against ibragimov showed me holy was not completely shot. You make great points. It's just hard to call these greats shot. But i think a Pav fan wanted to dis 40cal for not fighting Pav...lol and to do this, he had to ask, so i answered.

And didn't tito look good too. He showed he wasn't totally shot, and people said he was when he lost to winky. lol

Actually, he is fighting better off the ropes. It is when he is center ring where he wasn't able to see tarver or johnson's punches coming. Roy just seems to have lost his energy level. I think it was because of the weight loss. He said after the johnson fight he was tired after round 4. He said it wasn't from Johnson's punches, he was just tired physically. In the tarver fight, he said he thought he felt good, but when he saw the tape, he looked so small compared to tarver. The weight loss was a detriment to his body. I believe him when he says this.

I welcome these polls. I used to exlax on Wlad K, and some times I still do. But I realize he has become the best heavy, and he has gotten better. I still don't like his holding a man's neck down when they get too close. Wlad has never learned to fight on the inside when he can't land his vaunted jab. I criticized him because he was a gold medal winner who lost to guys, and did not rematch them right away. I don't care if a fighter loses. But you have to rematch the men who beat you when you are a gold medalist. He has turned his career around. I congratulate any fighter who can come back from the brink of darkness.

No, for you to be shot, you had to have showed me you can't fight anymore. Jones can still fight.

I don't mean to be funny, but when Norris lost to Mullings, we knew he was shot.

i agree that tarver looked massive compared to him but in realityy he is just gangly. i think roy was intimidated by the sheer size of tarver. roy has been gassing since the ruiz fight. i think roy believes now that there is no weight issue that he can compete again, i tend to disagree but he may prove me wrong

i also like wlad because he is a true gentleman who is very respectful.

i think wlad is still deadly afraid of getting hit on the chin
