In no certain way is Vitali guaranteed victory but Big Huffing and Puffing Sam won't have a easy night against Klitschko, Peter is only the chance champion and will be eating some big leather. It seems like the making of a long boring decision with the likelyhood of a few knockdowns. Vitali by Decision on the back of jabs all night long.

Those German promoters are tryin their best to control the HW division. Without the 4 year vacation, Vitali wins this by possible KO, but he has been away too long for a SMART man to beleive he wins....even against Peter!

Peter is a good fighter. He is aggressive, he hits like a mule (ask Jeremy Williams, jesus) and in his second fight with Toney we seen him really mature. Also his chin is like granite. So I really doubt Vitali, coming off of a long layoff/mayoral candidacy etc., will be a problem for him. Peter is on a roll right now, and stylistically he is more likely to win this one; Vitali stands straight up, his chin is in the air and Peter is gonna use him as a heavy bag, I guarantee it

#1) Theres almost no chance Vitali will actually be able to fight...he'll **** up his back again or something...and there will be delay after delay after delay. This will just waste Peter's time and ours. VITALI, ITS TIME TO PASS THE TORCH.
#2) Why the hell would Peter be fighting Vitali anyways? Wladimir is the champ, Peter is the #1 contender, and Vitali hasn't accomplished anything in the ring for four years.
#3) What if Vitali actually manages to fight, and actually manages to win? He'll never fight Wladimir, and you can forget about a unified heavyweight title for about another decade.
This fight is a terrible idea.
He should've stayed retired... let other HW fight it out...

Its verry sad that they couldnt find any opponent for Peter in July. These promoters and managers act like amateurs! Peter is someone who has to stay active because he likes to eat. Hes training hard and in good shape but he could be a bit lighter and fighting often would help. Hes build like a bull but 250 is a few pounds to much. 240 -245 pounds is a good weight for him.
But seriously, i take Peter to beat Vitali if they fight! Vitali will not be at his best after the long layoff! And i think he was never better than Wladimir is today. Hes more exciting and has more heart but Wlad is far more skilled, faster and has more one punh power. He has improved verry much since hes with Steward.

vitali is not as skilled as wlad but he has a better chin and way tougher. great attributes for a heavy.
wlad has regressed under steward. the only thing steward taught him is how to clinch and to save his energy. wlad was much better offensively before steward. steward is not a good trainer anymore imo.

The thing about Peter is I think he got way to much credit and mileage off that brutal ko of Williams. After that he basically had 1 ko in his next 6 fights and at times struggled with McCline. I didn't know 3 knockdowns constituted a granite chin!
In a way, after looking better fundamentally against Toney, he abandon his newly found jab and regressed and got sloppy again.
Vitali has been out of the game so long as to become irrelevant, but if he's anything like he was before, that telephone pole jab of his will keep Peter at bay all night.
He used to use his height very well. It's just that he has been so inactive who knows what he has left.
Peter is a loss waiting to happen. All heavyweights aren't McCline or Maskaev. Some can actually fight (a little ha ha ha)
