the sign of a great fighter is surely not how many belts he wins at different weight classes.

there have been many great fighters over the eons and Jopnes while he may make a top 20 does not make the top ten in imo.

for example i would have a prime marvin halger in above Jones.

why? cos he would have beaten him at middleweight.

NAMES I WOULD CONSIDER TO BE AT LEAST BE ON A PAR OR BETTER THAN RJJ

              Roberto Duran
              Ray Robinson
              Muhammad Ali
              Henry Armstrong
              Jimmy Wilde
              Joe Louis
              Micky Walker
              Sam Langford
              J.C. Chavez
              Ray Leonard.
              Willie Pep
              Eder Jofre
              Ezzard Charles
              Benny Lenoard
              Sandy Saddler
              Archie Moore
              Emile Griffith
              Ricardo Lopez
              M. Halger
              T .Hearns
              Gershon Mendlehoff (Ted Kid Lewis)

and Im bound to have forgotten many, so as you can see its pretty difficult to pick one or in fact where Roy would have fallen as its all mythical

You can however take it to the bank that RJJ will not go down as the greatest fighter ever to have lived.

Great yes, but the greatest no.

I hope this answers you questions please let me know if you need further clarification.

no worries mate just wanted to give you a full answer but P4P means all things being equal (weigth etc) who would beat who surely? As in who is the best boxer / fighter p4p is if they were the same size who has the best skills to win?

and that doesnt necessarily mean out and out skills you have to look at heart, chin, bravery, punch power, insuide work the whole cha****.

to properly compile a top 20 all times greats may take me a 6 months to a year due to the amoutn of reading that would be necessary to do it justice.

in fact that might be lile project I coudl set meyself on one day

                    hmm

People were able to beat Ali in his prime, and more than one person at that. There also some controversial decisions rendered. Based on some film I've seen and some knowledge of history I would say Ray Rob is the best ever.

No need to say who my fave is.

YIP and even SRR wasnt invincible.

Randy Turpins victory must have been the biggest upset ever in a british ring.

                      Unfocucussed SRR or not.
