Cotto has a better resume at welterweight than floyd, however, Floyd was the linear champion, and i respect that title, this has less to do with how i feel about floyd and more to do with the fact that i give credibility to the ring title since the #1 and #2 have to square off to get it. You can argue in circles all you want, but he was the king of that division with the linear title, he relinquised it and is thus not the ruler of the division.

Again, right now by rule, Joe Calzhage is the best LHW in the world, he rules that division because he has the linear championship, i dont ****ing care how much i cant stand him, i respect his standing with that title.

I just don't see DLH as the same powerful threat as a Sugar Shane was. Yes, Cotto will get hit - but DLH is going to get alot more back? Did you already forget the Steve Forbes fight? What's great about the DLH/Cotto fight, is if Cotto destroys DLH - hell, if he even dominates him with a UD - then NONE OF THIS - Cotto beat up on Mayweather's Leftovers" will fly. Floyd sure as hell didn't beat up or "ruin" DLH in anyway. That would be a legitimate comparison.

Cotto would have fought DLH a year and a half to two years afgter Mayweather did. At 36 years old, that is WAY significant.
