Cotto would have fought DLH a year and a half to two years afgter Mayweather did. At 36 years old, that is WAY significant.
See the point you're trying to make but he looked more effective and energetic in the Forbes fight - to the point that Steward and some other notable observers thought DLH looked damn good. Just don't see a very significant drop from the Mayweather fight - not enough to say that Mayweather fought a good DLH and Cotto will fight a bum DLH.
why? oscar can still make millions without that ducker...the question is.. will floyd? not unless he faces the real welterweights cotto, margarito, which he wont...

Floyd was making millions fighting guys like henry burelles...
So I think Floyd is ok...
I think that Oscar has a good business sense. With Floyd out of the picture he becomes the defacto top "Old dog". And with Cotto if he prevails as the top young gun, that's a story that he can sell, the final hurrah. Marciano/Louis; Ali/Liston. From a legacy standpoint, a loss doesn't hurt a bit, a victory, well that would be something. That's some story.

Good point, and bottomline - it's still a competitive fight - Oscar still has a great jab; something that Cotto has yet to really deal with thus far.
