      a definition of a mexican boxer;

      a figher who,
needs a translator for an interview.
      eats taco w/chili
      wears a mexican flag 24/7
is scared of nobody in and out the ring.
before becoming a boxer use to sell hot tacos.
      crowd pleasing style.
      leave everything in the ring.
      money is not am issue.
      owns a truck.
regardless of money a mexican is a mexican

        Use your head.
Now you're just assuming this will take place and PBF will come out of retirement.

        I agree with that.

DLH clearly feels that taking out Cotto might in some way redeem his flop against the last Puerto Rican superstar he faced. One can't really blame him for wanting the fight against a top-rated, undefeated champion though: it is one of the few fights that could somewhat shore up his questionable legacy.

Oscar has always been a quick learner with an abiding love of a dollar. Since Arum showed him how to makw real money, Oscar has NEVER done ANYTHING without it being relevant to whatever scheme he has breeding in his melon shaped head. He's far from "washed-up" although his best days are long gone. A fighter who's kept himself out of harm's way, has careful matching, grabs all the advantages, etc. doesn't deteriorate suddenly, rather a long slow decline.

So if he says he wants to fight Cotto, AND MEANS IT. then he really believes that he can keep out of the "pocket" and still win. Of course he tried the same thing with Trinidad and failed, as he does from time to time. As Napoleon Buonaparte eventually found out, nobody can make a perfect plann every time. But ever since the Trinidad debacle, and because his reputation suffered such a hit, not from losing, but the WAY he lost, that he's been taking chances that he neever would have before, to prove his Mexican style "machismo". Albeit in a very cautious way.

This Cotto comment is an example of this, especially when he couples it with the remark that Mayweather wouldn't fight Cotto, implying -without actually saying- that Mayweather was aftaid of Cotto, but Oscar isn't, therefore they are on two different levels both as fighters and as persons.

              I think he's right.

too good for cotto to land on oscar but too bad for him because he will lose to margarito. after the cotto-margarito fight, oscar will change his mind and fight margarito instead.

I wonder what Oscar's wife thinks... so much for his "promise" to her.
