Neither Jones or Hopkins wanted any part of Joe several years ago. Jones admitted to Brian Kenny on FNF last year that he didn't want to risk fighting JC or DM when both were legitimate opponents for him at his peak because there was too much risk and little reward back then. When Brian then asked Jones what's changed that he's willing to fight Joe now, Jones said, "I have nothing to lose."
And NO, Joe didn't "really lose" to Hopkins unless you're completely biased in scoring the fight. That was a clear victory for Joe.
