Hopkins probably has a better right hand than Roy, and he landed only one of any significance.

    Plus Roy can't fight southpaws...
    True about the southpaws
    False about the right hands

    IMO

Joe Calzaghe is ducking Kelly Pavlik? Pavlik?! ****s sake. If you got 160 pounds of lard and put it into a machine to make a fighter absolutely tailor-made for Joe Calzaghe it would pop our Moby. Look I love Pavlik to bits - bit simple of course, but an absolute warrior and never knows when he's beaten - but Calzaghe is an absolute nightmare for him. It'd make the Lacy fight look competitive, even taking into account Calzaghe's ageing. This is really very good news for Pavlik.

The Jones fight is about one thing and one thing only - money. They'll make millions more fighting than he'd make from Pavlik. That's the reality of boxing these days, sadly, and not being able to compete with the big boys financially is the main reason why Calzaghe has been in Pavlik's shoes in the past and turned down by the bigger names. Quite ironic really.

So seriously folks, get a grip here. Calzaghe gets his payday, Jones gets his one last day out in the sun (well, rain assuming this is going to be held in Cardiff) and Pavlik doesn't get humiliated and can reign supreme for a few more years in a pretty mediocre division these days. Everyone's a winner.
I think Pavlik is taylor made for Jermain Taylor also.

Joe may not have got some of the so called mega names on his resume but he's never ducked anyone. He wanted Ottke for years whom wouldn't have any of it. Joe even begged to fight Kessler, a known dangerous top fighter, regarded as #2 in SMW and will reign, beat many of the big names of now.

He's openly said several times he gets motivated by big fights, dangerous fighters, with a challenge to win and not lose. Most agree Pavliks in experience and style is suited for Calzaghe to win in a similar fashion to Kessler. Roy however has the boxing skills, speed, combinations, ring intelligence to beat Joe. They're both late 30's aswell. This is a basic assessment of the facts you tools, quit making **** up.
I believe at one point Joe said he would never fight Kessler. Joe was pressured into that fight.

Not sure how legimate the never fighting him claims where, but he certainly later begged Frank Warren to get a fight with him, he wanted and wants dangerous fights to get motivated for.

I dont' get the logic! Calz is one of the best TODAY just like Pavlik! Roy is one of the best from YESTERDAY!

Enzo saw first hand what type of damage Kelly's guns do! He loves his son!

damn i was really looking forward for pav/calz, i am also looking forward for this one of course, but i do get the feeling that calzaghe backed away i mean the statement of why he doesnt want the fight just doesnt make any sense, still i think roy jones has possibilities its not on his prime oviously but is still a threat to anyone.

But the pavlik calzaghe fight would have been great for boxing, because both of them are top 3 in the p4p list right now, and it was showing that both boxers were willing to put their records on the line, just like the old times, but i guess the risk was too much for someone.
