Am I the only Calzaghe fan who's scared for Calzaghe?

tarver is multiple time 175 champ. roy jones is roy jones. they'd be great names for his resume. they'd both make him more money than a kelly fight. they'd both be easier wins for joe than kelly.
Dawson is the only other guy I can think of who would be great for Zaghe, legacy wize.

i don't agree with it but i'm just playing devil's advocate.

i don't rate that highly his win over the old bernard but it's still BERNARD.
I see what you are saying and I agree that the win over Hopkins was massively blown out of proportion.

Just on Roy though, as much as I love the man it is pretty clear that the trip to HW and back significantly diminished him. IMO Tarver gets destroyed by RJ prior to the Ruiz fight. I don't think it is an age issue, just that Roy took a lot out of himself to get up there and beat Ruiz. I agree though, unfortunately those Joe fans who cannot see logic will throw back the same points you have mentioned. It is for this reason that I don't really want Roy to fight Joe, despite the fact that it would be one of the sweetest victories of all.

P.S. Not saying all Calzaghe fans are as I may have represented them in this post.

Not me. I think people make too much of Bhop's age. He's the greatest 40s fighter i've ever seen, by leaps and bounds. Commin off a win against Winky, cmon now.

....I agree with the general sentiment of this thread and I definitely don't want to see those guys fight. Lets watch Zags beat up Jones and lets watch Pavlik beat up Abraham instead.

roy needs to retire. he should've retired after the ruiz fight. that would've been sweet...... or after a loss to lewis or tyson for $$$$$$$$$$$$.

plus tarv would never have koed him and antonio would still be considered the nobody that he really is.

I agree unfortunately. Prime Roy embaresses Calzaghe IMO, but I don't think he would do himself justice now. I see him just getting outworked in that fight. He should retire, he has accomplished everything possible and dominated a division like very few throughout history have been able to do.

I disagree. I see Roy winning a messy UD at best. You know how Calzaghe applies the heat. Roy would be on the back foot I think.
