To see two undisputed (almost in Pavlik's case) champions with an output of 80-100 punches thrown per round, very good chins, excellent stamina, and very good technique, would be a dream for any fan of the sport.

To see one of them lose would be a tragedy for one...

I think that's a bad analogy because Roy Jones is still very game and could easily give slapzaghe his first loss. In fact, I favor him to win the fight if they do fight. So, there is plenty of reason for 'zaghe to duck him. However, there was never any chance that zaghe could have beaten Roy Jones.

The reason that the fight was never made in their primes is because 'zaghe didn't want to leave Wales. You tell me if RJJ is going to go fight in Wales when he's the undisputed #1 P4P king of the world.

There's that and Calzaghe admitted himself that he didn't want to fight RJJ.

        *****.

I think what will differ between Pavlik and Kessler is that Kessler winds up his right hand while Kelly simply pushes it out (how he gets so much power doing that I have no idea, it almost looks like an arm punch). He catches guys off guard with that time and time again as they don't have enough time to fully react and he always gets a piece of them somehow. You can see it when he throws his punches, very little forewarning or body language in what he is about to do. It is actually very good technique and not many guys would get away with it as you would need a ton of natural power to still give some oomph throwing that way. It is very sneaky. I would hate to see what kind of punching power Pavlik would have if he actually did wind up. it would be scary stuff.

Joe will definitely have to be on his A game and give tons of lateral movement.
