    Tarver by KO or TKO
Diaconu is the hardest puncher at 175 and Dawson is the second hardest. Tarver's power is very overrated. The only elite name guy that he stopped was Roy Jones, and that was after Jones had to come down from heavyweight which made his chin weaker. Tarver doesn't even have a great knockout percentage as well.

Also, Taver needed a come foward stationary Target such as Woods to land those punches. What would he do when he is fighting an elusive boxer with more boxing ability than him and better footspeed? Look at all of the technical boxers that Tarver has faced. He has looked horrible. Eric harding broke Tarver's jaw in their first fight and scored a knock down. Harding was ahead in the second fight as well before he was caught with a silly punch. Dawson is the better out boxer so the only way that Tarver has is catching Dawson with a big punch and i never bet on knockouts. If a fighter has more options of winning then the other, then he is the fighter that i go for.

    Dawson by wide decision

Diaconu may hit harder than Tarver, but Tarver still hits harder than Dawson IMO....Tarver was able to hurt the iron chinned Johnson in their fights...Dawson landed everything on Johnson and he couldn't even make him flinch.

If Dawson beats Tarver, then he would have the WBC, IBF and IBO titles and would defend them against the winner of Diaconu/Johnson. It would make better since if it all went down like that.
Diaconu won't need to fight for the WBC interim championship because he's already the WBC interim champion. If Dawson fights Tarver or anyone else other than Diaconu, he loses his WBC belt. And if Dawson forfeits the title just to fight Tarver, I think he will lose a lot of respect from the boxing community.

Tarver by KO if the fight happens.
The hardest puncher at 175, really? NO. with a less than 65% ko rate and only when KO against an elite light heavyweight (but it was so sweet) Tarver has pop but not the hardest puncher by far in this division. Dawson can box or fight with Tarver can't (even though he is uber slick) and Dawson can take a shot, he was only down against Harding and Adamek (who wen on to stop very tough O'Neil Bell) but Dawson doesnt have the best beard and its found easily. Dawson is faster as well. If they meet, Dawson will outwork and frustrate Tarver. Dawson UD or MD. As for the belts, who gives a damn. The champion is Calzaghe, let Dawson and Tarver fight, there two of the top contenders in the division. Diaconu is a good fighter, he just needs to earn some recognition.

You must not think much of the fighters in the US. Tarver isn't even the best lightheavyweight in the US.
