I will be really torn if this fight happens, Pavlik impressed me with his offense at the weekend he could be a really great boxer in the future, still stuff to work on though. At the moment I still see Calzaghe winning pretty easy on the score cards as Pavlik is there to be had all night long - he is so open and as good a jab as Pavlik's is he wont be nearly as successfull against Calzaghes awkward style.....plus I dont think Calz will go down even if he gets caught (which I'm sure he will eventually Pavlik is too accurate and Calz is getting long in the tooth and past his absolute prime) as he's been in with harder punchers and has a granite chin.

It would be a proper send off for Calz and a great oppurtunity for Pavlik to earn some serious stripes, hope it happens at 168.

Calzaghe is better than Pavlik but there is no way anybody with even the slightest knowledge of boxing can consider Pavlik "hype." Pavlik is a legitimate Champion at MW and has beaten several quality fighters in a row. Kelly was a big underdog against Miranda and Taylor and knocked both of them out.

Joe would most likely win a decision against Kelly at SMW, but I can see Kelly giving Joe a tough fight, win or lose.

Such extreme views show you have zero knowledge of what boxing really involves and also zero knowledge about Calzaghe's career other than what you read on here from the most tiresome anti-UK propagandists.

As we know, Calzaghe is in talks for a fight with Pavlik, and I guarantee you it won't be because Joe doesn't like the fight if it doesn't come off. He fought Lacy when Lacy was supposed to be an unbeatable monster and took on Kessler too. What on earth would he have to fear from a Kelly Pavlik fight?

It is easy to see that the only people with a reason to avoid this fight are Pavlik and his team, since Kelly is a rising US star with an 0 to protect, with the chance to become a really big name if he keeps winning. A loss to Joe would take a fair degree of that shine off and it will be safer and easier for Kelly to keep beating the MWs that are left in what is a relatively weak division.
