Should HATTON be embarrassed to fight the TINY Pacquiao?

you fool, didn't the fact that Hatton didn't get knocked out by Lazcano by the same punch show you that it wasn't the Mayweather check-hook that did the damage but the punches in the previous rounds, chiefly the hits he took as a result of Cortez in the earlier rounds
i could've hit hatton in the 10th and he would've went down, Cortez set him upComment

errm mayweather gave away 7lbs on fight night to hatton, hes been fighting bigger guys 4 last 2 or so years and outclassing them no excuses for hatton other than his lack of skill mayweahters a natural 140 lber nowadaysComment

A few things: Pacquiao wants the fight. Pac clearly thinks he can win, and he's a big name, it'd be a big fight and it has been talked about for quite some time, prior to the Mayweather bout. Second Mayweather often justified moves by saying "If it makes dollars it makes sense". Apparently what's good for the goose isn't good for the gander. And finally if Hatton were to take a fight against Bradley or Torres (Not Witter, that moment has well and truly passed) for less money then these same chumps would be criticising him for "ducking" a former flyweight.Comment

Yes.
But if he actually lost to Pac, embarrassment would not be a deep enough word.
In fairness, Oscar should be shamed for considering a fight with Hatton also...though if Ricky was the true warrior he claims, he would not have turned that fight down.
Pac is many times the warrior Hatton is.Last edited by TCN® SOULJAH; 06-10-2008, 05:51 AM.Comment

One more thing. This idea that Hatton made excuses about the extra weight is also bull****. His comments about the extra weight have been taken out of context. The correct context is that he was being interviewed at the post fight presser after both fights and responded to a direct question: Did you think that the extra weight had an impact?
In both cases he said that it did.Comment

when you lose a fight the press is gonna ask you why you think you lost.
any answer you give is an "excuse"
these are great athletes. involved even the most pedestrian journeyman is more talented than any of us mere mortals.
to be great , you have to think you're great. if a guy beats them what do you expect them to say? i'm not that good? i can't beat him? he's better than me? if they really think that it's not a good mentality for their next fight.
mentality and confidence (even arrogance) means everything. if you think you can't win...... more than likely you'll lose.Comment
