So Why Would I (floyd) Fight Someone That Got Busted Up By Someone I Busted Up...that Couldn't Bust Me Up...even After He Busted My Balls? It Makes Sense To The Millions Around The World For Our Personal Fantasy, But It Doesn't Add Up In Floyd's Head.

Dlh Has Never Been Battered The Way Cotto Has By Opponents, So In Floyd's Mind He Feels He Has Already Beat The Best Of The Best...so What Else Do I Have To Prove? Furthermore, Why In The Hell Would I Have The Passion For A Sport That Has No More Love For Me? I'm Tired...i've Worked My Ass Off, But No One Wants To Give Me My Bonus For My Hard Work...i Quit! Floyd's Given Us A Great Show, And If He Wants To Ride Off In The Sunset...let Him Tip His Brim And Go In Peace. Until Then, I'll Continue To Enjoy Cotto (the New Ringmaster) And All The Greats That Continue To Excite Us Now.

No Disrespect But Thats Not Very Good Logic When It Comes To Boxing...boxing Is All About Styles And Match Ups...and As Far As Throwing De La Hoya In The Mix Dlh Was Well Past His Prime In There Fight (and Still Was The Agressor And I Believe Did The Most Damage) I Believe He Would Of Beat Mayweather In His Prime...if Your Right And Thats What Floyd Is Thinking He's Gota Realize That Beating People Who Have Beaten Other People Does Nottttttttt Equal He Has Beaten Them Too,essentially Taking Those Fighters Resumes With Him! Its Funny To Me That He Would Say It Was All About Money When Pressured To Fight Cotto...yet To Retire He's Realized Its Not All About The Money?? Where Was That Attitude When You Had Opportunities To Fight Cotto And Margarito..very Convenient

floyd should fight cotto but if he doesn't have the passion anymore... why should he put himself through it? he shouldn't. and instead of holding the welterweight crown hostage (ala tszyu) he retired with class. he did the right thing for himself and boxing.

          Good read...
question: Why do people feel Floyd is afraid of Oscar? I mean really?
There is no way oscar won that fight and there was no reason to see a rematch. The first fight oscar had the gloves, the weight, the ring size, and the ref... all chosen by him...and he still lost
what do you think is goin to happen now after floyd has him figured out and Oscar doesn't have all the negotiating clout?!?
the only fight that needed to happen was cotto and Pbf

t really hasn’t sunk in for me yet that one of the greatest fighters that I’ve ever laid eyes on has officially retired. Wow! All I can say is thanks for the memories, Floyd. I’ll never forget how confident you looked in the locker room prior to giving Diego Corrales one of the biggest ass whoopin’s known to boxing. While there was a large number of boxing fans that felt Diego was gonna knock you cold, you looked ultra relaxed in the pre-fight buildup and took care of business.

I’ll never forget the first time you fought on HBO against Chicanito Hernandez. You entered the ring to “Money, Power and Respect…” You definitely earned those three things throughout your career.

Floyd was easily one of the top 3 fighters I’ve ever witnessed. My boxing love affair started in 1985, so I think that’s saying a little something.

One part of me is happy that you’re retiring with all your faculties and finances, but another side of me wants to see you return for Miguel Cotto (if he beats Margarito). Regardless, congratulations on a stellar career.

And to all the Floyd haters out there, R-I-P BITCHES!

Everybody keeps talking about PBF vs Cotto wen in reality I think Margarito will take Cotto out...

Honestly at the rate that Floyd trains, if he don't feel like doing it anymore, I cant blame him, it's harder get out of silk sheets to run miles...

Also I'm of the opinion that staying would not do anything more for his legacy, if he got in there with Cotto and beat him easy, we would ear the same old story, well that Cotto was a bum, after all he was suppose to lose to Hatton until he became a bum...

I like a PBF fight but if the man wants to quit, more power to him, thank you Floyd, you where fun to watch...

                boring.BORING...BORING!!!!!!!!!!

yes! he is rich. yes! hes unbeaten. yes! his faculties remain intact. yes! he has beaten some decent fighters at world level but, why are we calling him "the linear" champion at the weight? who did he beat to get this title? or the wbc belt? one fighter who, then became his sparring partner ? you guessed it......carlos baldomir(the guy who beat judah) judah the nobody that floyd couldnt dispatch with any ease and in fact, the fight was closer than we all think.
what makes him so special? **** ALL!
FACT: HES UNBEATEN WHICH MAKES PEOPLE WANT TO FIGHT HIM OR SEE HIM FIGHT.
FACT:WE HATE HIS ATTITUDE TOWARDS THE SPORT THAT TOOK HIM OUT OF THE GUTTER ,WHICH IS WHY WE WANT TO SEE HIM BEATEN.
FACT:HES NOT A CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS UNTIL HE HAS BEATEN THE OTHER "ALPHABETAS".
                FACT:BOXING DOES NOT NEED HIM.
QUESTION: HOW MANY PROFFESIONALS IN OTHER SPORTS **** ON ABOUT MONEY ALL THE TIME ?
QUESTION: IS HE REALLY RETIRING BECAUSE HE THINKS BOXING DOESNT NEED HIM TO FIGHT QUALITY OPPONENTS LIKE COTTO/MARGHARITO/DE LA HOYA/MOSLEY/CLOTTEY/BERTO/WILLIAMS/FORREST? IF HE DONT FIGHT EM, WHO NEEDS HIM?
**** ME THE LIST IS ENDLESS! AND THATS JUST AT WELTER, DONT FORGET THIS IS AN ATHLETE THAT CAN PLAY WITH WEIGHT AT MINIMAL EFFORT.....
THE ONLY THING FLOYD WAS EVER GOOD AT WAS HANDSPEED AND DEFENCE AND JUMPING WEIGHT, HE NEVER CAME TO FIGHT.
AS FAR AS IM CONCERNED, CASTILLO HAD HIM IN THE FIRST FIGHT. PERIOD.
NO FIGHTER IS A TRIED AND TESTED FIGHTER TILL HES BEATEN.

i hope he loses all his money very quickly and has to make a return to the
ring and then you can be sure he will fight any of the above mentioned fighters because, A: he will need the money and B: his unbeaten record wont be that much of a concern to him it will just be the money.
by then i think probably any of the top four will lick him.
                GOOD RIDANCE!.........WANKER.

Dlh Was Way Past His Prime In That Fight..but Even With That What I Saw When I Saw That Fight Was That Dlh Did All The Damage With All The Body Shots Throughout The Whole Fight..the Only Thing That Kept Dlh From Winning Was His Cardio Shape And Age...given The Chance If He Could Get His Cardio Better For A Retirement Fight Theres No Reason Why He Couldnt Be Floyd In A Rematch....sugar Shane Beat Dlh In The First Fight And Everyone Said He Shouldnt Rematch Itd Be The Same..well It Wasnt Even Though The Judges Gave It To Sugar It Was An Obvious Dlh Win By Most Boxing Experts
