Like i have said plenty of times, Chad Dawson is a bad style match up for Joe Calzaghe. Calzaghe hasn't fought a southpaw in the pros and out of all of the southpaws, Dawson is the wrong one to fight for your first time as Adamek and Ruiz both found out. Calzaghe doesn't have enough snap to bother Dawson's chin and he will definitely not beat Dawson on boxing ability alone. Dawson is the supeior out boxer with better power, handspeed, foot work and counter punching. He also bigger and taller and a lot younger as well. Hopkins showed that Calzaghe needs a stationary target in order to get his volume punches off and Dawson will make Calzaghe bring the fight to him and counter effectively, similar to the way Hopkins did. Only difference is that Dawson will win convincingly and he doesn't run out of gas late. I just laugh at the fact that people doesn't pay attention to the important key points and go by who they think would be the favorite. Dawson by unanimous decision.
Calzaghe to stay at 175; fight Dawson?

Links? Don't take that with too much merit. Calzaghe and Enzo theselves said as soon as after the Hopkins fight the weight is fine, and he could go back down to SMW no problem. He's struggled at times, but won't do much more now, 11+ years he's made it, there's no major change. Bob Arums interview and post fight presser says Pavliks up for Calzaghe, Frank Warren has been in talks on it.
Calzaghe beats Dawson by decision in a tight, poss boring match. Calzaghe adapting to Dawsons reach, style, then pulling away after R5 for a UD.Comment

I cannot give you any links but it was reported from an interview with Enzo. The angle was Kessler's chances of a rematch with Joe and how Enzo looked at Kessler's future.Links? Enzo said that he and Joe thought that Kessler would rule the division in the coming years and that a rematch seemed unlikely as Joe was having difficulty coming down to 168. What surprised me the most was that Enzo didn't mention that Joe was only to have one more fight. So maybe Joe's career will continue in 2009 (unfortunately IMO).Comment

I've posted lots of times that this would be the toughest fight out there for Calzaghe, but also one of the most entertaining to watch.
Calzaghe will have the upperhand over Dawson tactically for sure, but Dawson has all the physical advantages at this stage.
The bottom line is that I don't know how good Chad Dawson actually is, and neither does anyone else really, he hasn't been in with enough guys in the Calzaghe bracket for us to make up our minds, or at least thats what I think.
Because I do know what Calzaghe can do for sure, I'll pick him by decision. If Dawson can struggle (a bit) with Johnson he could easily find Calzaghe all together too much, but if their IS a younger, faster, stronger, hungrier guy out there who is going to beat Calzaghe it is Dawson and not anybody else.
Don't see this fight actually happening , although I am beginning to wonder if either Roy or Pavlik are going to make the fight with Joe.Comment

Jones has done it PLENTY of times? Care to list ALL of those times?
Furthermore, I know ENOUGH to know that is not the case. Not that the onus is on me to prove anything. NOBODY FROM CALZAGHE'S CAMP HAS SAID JONES HAS PRICED HIMSELF OUT. Even they know better than to make up some BS like that. So why don't you tell ME where that comes from!Comment

Crikey! Calm down dude. It's just hearsay, I can't prove it, but its been said often enough.Jones has done it PLENTY of times? Care to list ALL of those times?

As for what I asked you it seemed that you were saying absolutely, definitely, Roy did not price himself out, and I wondered how you knew?
If you didn't, you didn't. No problem. End of.Comment
