That doesn't answer the question. Pavlik has surely beaten (but not fought -- Calzaghe counts more than two fights with Taylor) better opposition, but you can clearly see how much better Kessler is.

I think Kessler would beat Pavlik extremely cleanly, and would leave no doubt against Taylor.

Pavlik is better than Kessler, but not by much. He is also better than Hopkins, Mitchell, Brewer, Lacy and Eubank, although they were very good fighters too.

Mikkel is more athletic and has better foot and lateral movement, but Kelly has more of a killer instinct, better offensive skills, and hits harder.

Kelly is underrated and would be an extremely difficult fight for Joe.

Kessler has sounder technique and is the more fluid athlete. He has MUCH better handspeed, better defense, better jab, MUCH better footwork, etc.

            That may be.

In a related story.........Macho Camacho Jr looked nothing short and I mean NOTHING short of Superman against D class opposition.

Yeah Pavlik has a kind of intangible, but it's easy to picture him being beaten.

On an unrelated note, I stood one foot from him last night and he looked more imposing physically than on TV

I can't really say. Hopkins was the best Calzaghe ever fought, but when Calzaghe fought him Hopkins was a shell of even the fighter who beat Tito much less the guy who just destroyed Glen Johnson.

I don't know how good Pavlik is. Maybe he's Kessler good maybe he's better. It's just hard to say. If he's better than Kessler he may just be able to beat Calzaghe. I'd like to see the fight. It's pretty close to a toss up. Maybe Calzaghe is as much as a 2-1 favorite.

Pavlik will be maybe freshest of the good fighters Calzaghe has faced but time will tell if he ends up being regarded as good as Eubank, Hopkins, or Kessler.

I voted no, but only because certain fighters always have that one person that can beat them. I don't think Pavlik is better than Kessler, but still I think Pavlik has a better chance of winning.
