Oh dear, say many didn't perhaps which underlines the ignorance. But to say no one knew the no.1 SMW champion of 10 years, whom beat a house hold name in Eubank, and just recent years beat Lacy, Bika, and Kessler, is just lame.
He meant in the states, and was actually taking a pop at fellow Americans who are of the opinion that if a fighter isn't on HBO he is a bum.

    He was right too.

He fought Ouma who has a great chin period. And Cory wasn't within his range to find him. Who has Joe knocked out that was a credible opponent??? Seriously though I haven't followed Joe's career.

In the US yes.. Not only he had 1 fight in the US, the Kessler-Calzaghe for the undisputed title had the lowest TV rating HBO ever had in the US..

I KNOW Joe can hurt Kelly, anyone who doesn't accept this is somewhat ignorant to the fact that anyone can becaught and hurt by anyone else.

So now I'm ignorant because I don't think Joe can hurt Kelly? Anyone can get caught I agree with you. But did you see Kelly recover against Jermaine? Did you see him go toe to toe and take flush shots against Miranda? Or is it that Miranda isn't a strong puncher as well?

Joe throws to score points not to KO anyone. Joe's last KO was against Manfredo and it didn't seem as if he were hurt much more than he was just a coward.

Kelly has fantastic powers of recovery, he was on ***** street against Taylor and came back well.

Watch the Calzaghe vs Mitchell fight to see a better comeback though. Takes a HEAVY knock down, and stops Mitchell in brutal fashion in the same round. This was also when Calzaghe "couldn't punch".

I highly suggest that you watch a few Calzaghe fights, against people you haven't heard of. Not only will you see that his unknown opponents did in fact have skills, you will see a lot of Calzaghe's game that most in your position don't know about.

The problem with waiting is that Calzaghe will probably retire after just a couple more fights.

Still, I agree that Pavlik probably isn't ready for Calzaghe. Back before Calzaghe accepted his fight with Lacy this same stuff was said about Lacy/Calzaghe, though most people favored Jeff in the matchup. I don't think Calzaghe will rough up Pavlik the way he did Lacy, but I don't think Kelly can win this one either, not right now. I don't really think anyone can beat Calzaghe right now, but Pavlik probably has the best chance. Kessler, I think, would also do much better in a rematch against Calzaghe, but I don't think he'd win. I'd still prefer to see a Kessler/Pavlik fight first, with the winner of that taking on Calzaghe.

i have seen the mitchell fight numerous times, and to compare that to the **** load of big shots pavlik took, and recovered from against taylor in the 2nd round justs show ur being a biased hugger. very few fighter have ever taken that many big shots, and came back. we get it, you like joe. no problem, but stop trying to make him into jesus reincarnanted.

I know he was referring to America, but he coulda stated that too. Just saying it without that sounded like a generalisation.

I half though he might have been saying Americans don't know a few names so well which doesn't mean they're not top level fighters. But the way he also said NO ONE, not most, and didn't specify the country seemingly sounding like a broader statement, was off the mark. I agree with some of his sentiments and ignorance of foreign fighters should be exposed, but it came out a little too broad and in-accurately, all I'm saying.

Calzaghe can't use the KO power he has, and used earlier in his career because he brakes his fragile hands lol. It's unlikely he'll significantly hurt Pavlik. But a more tired, out worked, broken down Pavlik recieving non stop flurries it's possible.

Watch the first minute of this.

Calzaghe used to have a SICK left hook. He dropped Chris Eubank twice in 1 fight, a feat which Nigel Benn couldn't do over the course of their two fights together.
